Galentines Playlist 💕

Last year I hosted a Galentines dinner for the first time ever and loved my menu, my details, my invite and the way my house was 100% clean all at the same time, but unfortunately all that prep stressed me out, lowered my immunity and set me up for a gnarly cold to start taking over my body the day-of. It could also be that earlier that week I completely painted and redid our entire bedroom and changed out several light fixtures in the house. I was so run down with full body aches. By the end of the night I felt like total poo and the next day I ended up in a walk-in center with a sinus infection, too. I literally don’t have a single photo from that evening.

That being said, I couldn’t fully lean into the fun vibe, but I stilllll listen to the playlist I made for it almost a full year later, so I’m sharing it here.

It pairs well with the menu I served, which I can’t fully remember, but what I can was:

- Chia Seed Chocolate Mousse Cups - all blended together so the consistency was light and fluffy, chocolate flavored with cacao and sweetened with maple syrup served in little mason jars)

- Shredded Brussel Sprout Salad - my usual caesar salad set up, with my from scratch caesar dressing, but served over shredded raw brussel sprouts instead of romaine

- Steak Salad - a leafy green salad with the usual fixings: tomato, cucumbers and pickled onions with steak and a tangy blue cheese vinaigrette from Aubrey Johansen on Instagram

- Espresso Martinis - I have an espresso maker but used cold brew so I could batch it and make more at once…we ran out regardless! It was delicious. I normally favor non-creamy recipes when ordering them out but used a fun creamy liquor for these.

- Curry Hummus - I served it with typical accoutrements, like veggies and pita and this hummus is sweet, a bit nutty and with a strong curry flavor but not too spicy, the recipe is from Ambitious Kitchen

I also used an invite that I designed (and ended up listing for sale on my website because I thought it was so cute), so here’s a pic of that, too!

These are extra fun because you can edit them in Canva yourself (just use the free Canva) to make them yours - on the invite you can edit the details at the bottom and put it in the font and color of your choice.
