are you dissatisfied with your creation?

when you look at me with judgement, it feels as though you've forgotten who's mirrored image it is I'm reflecting

it's not my fault that you are displeased with the perceived faults you keep projecting; nor is it my cost to bear to ensure it's your peace we keep protecting

I am just a mirage, an illusion you can study. another dream and fantasy you'll delude yourself into knowing, while ignoring and repressing the flaws and hypocrisy we'll all face in the morning

when you look at me as other, when you ignore every warning-you only serve to prove every theory that I'm forming

it's not my fault that I was born as justice, not peace, and that I have my own, unique, brand of mercy I'll seek

I have braved the shadows that make you mad, and I have been blinded by the light you cling to instead-watching as you inevitably falter through lack of a plan-knowing the cost of choosing to ignore the power you could command-if only you weren't afraid of your promised land-imagine what we could do if you were actually willing to take my hand

I can be the monster you fear that lives under your bed, or I can be the salvation you pray to every night instead. you have a choice and must decide how our combined story will end, do you want to part ways as enemies, lovers, or perhaps even friends?
