Gosh these posts bring me joy. It’s like a little party at the end of the week. And this week was kind of a doozy! Our kids are officially back to school (Kindergarten, 3rd grade and 5th grade). I tried to make this week run as smoothly as possible. Well, let’s just say that was far from the case.
I put a lot of pressure on myself to “hold it all” - emotions, comfort, routine. Emotions were high, my house fell behind, I wasn’t as productive as I thought I’d be, my brain felt mushy and I really didn’t do anything to the best of my ability. Summer can feel chaotic and I’m reminded that the school year is a bit chaotic, too. We have new routines with sports this season (Charlie made a travel soccer team this year!) and it’s not going to feel smooth as soon as I’d like it to feel. I dropped a lot of balls…but I also wrote my kids notes in their lunch box, gave them baths, read books at night, cuddled with them on the couch at the end of a long day and made meals that I knew they would love. Typing that out is a reminder that sometimes that is more than enough!
I did have time to discover some new finds from the week and highlight items I’m loving right now.
I feel like I really need to channel Martha right now. Excited about this new book! Fun story: I bought 4 of Martha’s OG books in a resale bookstore in Kansas and they are some of my absolute favorites.
Gucci’s little girl’s bags are so fun (I have a daisy print bag!) and under $1000! A fun way to grab a designer bag for less. I love this new flower print. A fun pop of red for fall!
Stocked up on my favorite tin tuna! I eat this at least 3x a week for lunch at home. You don’t even need to add anything to it! I put it on top of a rice cake with avocado and pickled red onions.
