Assembly elections in UP, Punjab and Gujarat are schedule next year.

Bankipur, Datia, Manjalpur Election Result Highlights: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor defeats BJP's Neeraj Kumar by over 19,000 votes. BJP and Congress retain Bankipur and Datia respectively.

The bypoll was necessitated after a Delhi court in April this year sentenced Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti to three years' imprisonment in a cheating case, leading to the termination of his assembly membership.

A low voter turnout of over 34 per cent was registered in the 30 July bypoll on to Bihar's Bankipur seat where Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, making his electoral debut, has challenged decades of BJP dominance.

The entry of Kishor, a former poll strategist who launched the Jan Suraaj Party a few years ago, has turned the contest into a keenly watched battle in a constituency that has remained a BJP stronghold.

All three BJP candidates from Madhya Pradesh were elected unopposed in the Rajya Sabha elections. Additionally, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge was among four candidates unanimously elected from Karnataka, according to officials.

Punjab local body polls LIVE: Polling is taking place in 1,896 wards of the municipal bodies, which include eight municipal corporations of Mohali, Bathinda, Abohar, Barnala, Kapurthala, Moga, Batala, and Pathankot.

Falta Election Result Updates: BJP's Debangshu Panda recorded a massive win with a margin of 1,09,021 votes against Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate Sambhu Nath Kurmi as Falta underwent re-polling

Election Commission on Friday announced polls for 24 Rajya Sabha seats on June 18 following retirement of incumbents, including former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Digvijay Singh.

The Election Commission has nearly doubled the security arrangements for voting in the assembly seat that was countermanded last month over allegations of large-scale EVM tampering.
