OVER THE WEEKEND, I made a quick trip out to San Diego. It was a last-minute escape, with planning spearheaded by my brother who travels out there often. As far as itinerary goes, there were only two requirements from me: plenty of beach time and a Padres baseball game.
We mostly stuck to our plans, yet we were curious enough to forgo a few. After the 48-hour trip, we came out of it feeling a sense of accomplishment and recovery.
Which leads me to this shortlist here on how I traveled San Diego. Similar to my Las Vegas Shortlist, I’ll drop the style and gear essentials I packed with me, followed by my favorite spots I visited.

I could’ve done this trip with a single duffel bag or high-capacity travel backpack if I really wanted to stay lean, but I do often enjoy having a two-bag setup for quick-trips, just incase I bring anything back home. The two items match in their all-black color, and the backpack fits nicely on-top of the roller suitcase for zooming around the airport.
