Two longtime friends of Littburgh have books publishing today - Rachel Ekstrom Courage’s Death on the Lanai (the second book in her New York Times and USA Today bestselling series!) and Andrew Moore’s The Beasts of the East (which was just called “a magisterial work of natural history and reportage” by the Wall Street Journal!).
Andrew’s book launch is TODAY (June 2nd) at White Whale, so if you’re interested and able, stop by and tell ‘em you heard about it right here on Littsburgh! He’ll also be doing another local event at Woolly Bear (and has more tour dates in the region listed on his site, in case you’re reading from Erie or Morgantown).
And Rachel’s about to head out on the first leg of her tour for Death on the Lanai tomorrow (here’s a link to her Instagram if you’d like to help spread the word, and to her Substack for more info)… but she’ll be back in Pittsburgh on June 14th for her local book launch at Penguin Bookshop in Sewickley—we would LOVE to see you there!
This week would be a great time to pick up or borrow a copy of both of their books!
ICYMI, Rachel was on KDKA’s Pittsburgh Today Live with Heather Abraham and David Highfield, and you can watch that clip here when it’s live!
And here’s a little whimsy to help kick off this beautiful week…
Thank you to CLP for hosting the Pittsburgh Book Festival and to everyone who said “hi” after Rachel’s panel—we were so incredibly honored to help get the word out about the festival as a sponsor (and to see our logo on the back of all those bright yellow shirts, leading so many of our favorite authors through the crowds in Oakland).
Until next time!
