Note: This is our final session on our garden theme and, in fact, our final Draft & Redraft session for this season. I’ll announce what comes next soon!
This is our weekly guided Draft & Redraft practice. I’m glad you’re here.
Every harvest, gardeners gather seeds from their favourite harvested fruits and flowers. As writers, we, too, collect small seeds, craft moves from our reading that we can put in our pockets. We read a fresh way to open a story, a line that holds back with beautiful restraint, an image that quietly returns again and again in new forms, and we store it for our next draft.
Today we’re going to gather one seed and try planting it in our writing.
