Yes, this is coming in a bit late, but I’ve been away on holidays with my kids and attending a whack of grad festivities for my eldest daughter! (My, my! Are there ever a lot of grad events for high school kids these days!)

Each month, I provide a separate newsletter for paid subscribers featuring a query letter critique sent in by paid subscribers. I’ve decided to expand this to also be for a first page critique! Going forward, if you’re a paid subscriber, not only do have access to the chat feature, but you’ll also have the chance to submit your query letter or the first double-spaced page of your manuscript to get feedback on it.

Do you know of any writers who might benefit from these monthly query critiques or the free bi-weekly-ish newsletter? Please recommend my Substack to them so they can have a chance to learn and grow too. If you’d like to upgrade to a paid subscriber or founding member, click the button below. Founding members have access to starting threads in the chat plus your choice of a query + synopsis critique, a critique of your first ten pages, or a 1:1 consultation!

This month’s query is for a SFF manuscript, and my three main notes are about comp titles, plot paragraph details, and bio paragraph details. Ensuring agents have enough compelling information to give them a clear picture in their head of what the story is about is uber important! Overall though, this sounds like a really cool story, and it’s written with confidence.

Let’s get started!
