SUPREME COURT SIDES WITH TRUMP ON MAIL-IN BALLOT ORDER
The Supreme Court issued an unsigned ruling today that allows President Trump to move forward with part of his controversial mail-in ballot Executive Order. The conservative justices determined that the Department of Homeland Security and the US Postal Service hadn’t yet implemented Trump’s order so the 23 states and the District of Columbia didn’t have standing (yet) to bring the case. But this is FAR from over. And the reality is the main part of Trump’s order still can not be implemented. US-CANADA RELATIONS ON THE ROCKS. TRADE WAR HEATS UP.
Over the weekend, trade negotiations broke down between the United States and Canada. But today, the trade war escalated and tempers were raging. This video explains what’s going on and why this fighting with one of our biggest trading partners may really hurt Americans and several key industries.

ECONOMIC “D-DAY” IS HERE. OR IS IT?
Today the Treasury Secretary outlined what will be included in President Trump’s “Economic D-Day” for Iran. According to Secretary Scott Bessent, the United States is giving all countries that do business with Iran an ultimatum. Either end financial ties with Iran or face economic retaliation from the United States. When asked why the US was not imposing secondary sanctions on Iran’s trading partners right now, Bessent told reporters he wanted countries to have an opportunity to shift away from Iran before it was too late.
But there are still a lot of questions about this “Economic D-Day” threat. Despite Bessent’s tough talk, he gave very little detail today about how this would actually work and did not name which countries could face secondary sanctions. Bessent said Trump had been “making phone calls to world leaders with specific requests to cease their interactions” with Iran and has already seen results. China, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are Iran’s largest trade partners. Last week, the UAE said it was cutting off all trade with Iran after yet another missile strike. It’s unclear if President Trump will want to impose “Economic D-Day” sanctions on China as he’s in the midst of a delicate trade negotiation with China is just weeks away from President Xi arriving in the US for a state visit.. The Treasury Department said that it was imposing sanctions on nearly 60 Iran-linked entities, accusing them of roles in Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, cyber activities and oil shipments.

SENATORS WANT INDEPENDENT AUDIT OF USS LINCOLN
Two influential Democratic senators who sit on the Appropriations Committee sent a new letter to the Pentagon demanding the Navy initiate an immediate independent strategic review of the deployments of the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Benfold and brief Congress on its findings. Both ships experienced serious four-day power outages that only recently came to light. Separately, the Lincoln has been plagued with several other serious quality of life issues that I have been reporting on for weeks. The senators’ letter also accuses the Pentagon of hiding other problems from lawmakers, which they are now demanding to know about. The letter says “It also appears that the Navy was inadequately prepared for predictable risks associated with the Iran war, and we are deeply concerned about the implications for future operations or management of a peer conflict.”
It’s unclear how or if the Pentagon will respond. However, it’s important to know the Senate Appropriations Committee is responsible for deciding how much money to appropriate to the Pentagon’s budget. The Trump administration requested Congress appropriate a whopping $1.5 TRILLION for US Defense spending next fiscal year.
These senators clearly want answers before they allocate any money.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS OWNER ARRESTED
Jed York, the owner of the San Francisco 49ERS, was arrested over the weekend in Ohio and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools.
Court records show that York initially was charged with engaging in prostitution, but prosecutors amended the complaint to disorderly conduct. The charge of “possessing criminal tools” was a result of York using his phone to respond to an undercover online prostitution advertisement, according to prosecutors. York was sentenced to one day in jail for both offenses to be served concurrently and was credited with one day served when he pleaded no contest this morning. He also was fined $1,150.
So, how did the NFL respond? A spokesperson said, "We are aware of the matter which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy." The 49ERS addressed the arrest by saying, “As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time."
IF YOU LOVE JIMOTHY, YOU’LL LOVE MEEMERS
OK. This one is for those of you who are chronically online (like me). A wild raccoon living in Seattle, Washington with an unusually short, rounded shape, likely the result of a spinal deformity, took the internet by storm last month. The raccoon’s name is Jimothy and he has become a viral sensation. He’s been the subject of countless memes. He’s received an honorary degree from the University of Washington and was even recognized by the Seattle City Council.
Well now, it seems like Jimothy has some feline competition. A rescue cat named Meemers has now also gone viral for her similar short-spine syndrome. She’s two-and-a-half years old and lives in Bloomington, Illinois. Her owner, who works at the local shelter says Meemers was left in a box outside the shelter and she knew immediately Meemers would be hers. Meemers’ owners says despite her deformity, the cat has a great personality and loves people.
