TRUMP’S BALLROOM SUPREME COURT WIN

The Supreme Court ruled that President Trump CAN continue his ballroom construction, at least for now. The justices issued an administrative stay that paused the DC appellate court order that demanded Trump stop the ballroom construction but allowed him to continue his below-ground construction on the “military complex” while the case continues to play out. The appeals court said that Trump’s construction was illegal because he did not get authorization from Congress. This administrative stay will be in place while the justices consider their next steps. But there’s a huge catch. I explain in this video.

EPA ORDERS “EMERGENCY” END TO SUMMER BLEND GAS

The Environmental Protection Agency issued an emergency fuel waiver in an effort to lower gas prices and increase gas supply. Starting on September 1, the EPA will end summer-blend gasoline requirements early. The waiver covers E10 gasoline — fuel blended with 10% ethanol — and permits it to be sold at a higher evaporation rate than federal rules ordinarily allow once temperatures rise, the EPA said. The traditional end to the summer blend requirement is September 15 for most states, so this action by the EPA is speeding things up by two weeks. The action also waives state level controls in Texas, Arizona and California that extend beyond September 15, 2026, for the maximum period allowed of 20 days. The EPA claims this move will increase gasoline supply by hundreds of thousands of barrels per day.

The EPA says this waiver is necessary to “address extreme and unusual fuel supply circumstances affecting all parts of the United States.” Of course, this situation is the result of the war with Iran and the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has strained the global oil supply and spiked gas prices.

It’s also important to understand that this waiver does not cover diesel fuel. The rising cost of diesel fuel is a large part of what is causing the overall higher prices we’re all seeing. That’s because most of the products and food we buy are transported across the country by truck and those trucks run on diesel.

TRUMP’S NEW BEEF PLAN UPSETS REPUBLICANS AND FARMERS

President Trump is lifting tariffs on beef as prices soar. He wrote on his social media page this morning that for the next 90 days the US will allow 300,000 metric tons of ground beef to be imported with “no out of quota tariff.” He then went on to say “We have a commitment that this beef will be sold at 25 percent below current market prices.”

The president gave no indication about how exactly this would work and it is unclear how exactly he can make the market cut prices by 25%. Trump says his administration is doing this as a way to “help our ranchers.”

Trump blames the soaring beef prices on President Biden and the small beef herd.

It doesn’t seem that American ranchers are very happy about this. The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association posted a lengthy message on social media saying that “no cow-calf producer in America is asking for increased imports.” The association says this move by Trump is “undercutting American farmers and ranchers” and that it does nothing to “create market confidence or encourage rebuilding the herd.”
