The Viral Post That Wasn’t Supposed to Happen

Brad Zomick · Linkedin Famous

Most people who go viral on LinkedIn will tell you they didn’t expect it. Similarly, Brianna Doe, CEO of Verbatim, didn’t mean to hit a nerve.

After years of working behind the scenes in B2C and B2B marketing—at brands like Chick-fil-A, Web3 startups, and Shopify tech partners, she made a simple post. No strategy. No CTA. No idea what she was doing.

It hit over a million impressions.

Now, three years later, Brianna is the CEO of Verbatim, an influencer marketing agency with 100+ clients, 3,000+ influencer activations, and over $200 million in attributed revenue for brands like Notion, HubSpot, and Dropbox.

And she’s done it all while continuing to write posts that feel more like journal entries than marketing playbooks.

This is a story about showing up, imperfectly, and building a business from the attention that followed.

What you wouldn’t know about Brianna from her LinkedIn presence, is that she’s obsessed with movies. She studied film in college, almost moved to New Zealand to be in the film industry, and still writes screenplays to this day.

Brianna didn’t post to go viral. She posted because she was starting a new job and felt like she needed to reintroduce herself to the world.

“It’s one thing to write on behalf of a brand or a CEO or even just like an executive. It’s quite another to put your own voice out there. So that first post was me just kind of dipping my toe into the waters of LinkedIn and introducing myself.”

She was open, vulnerable, and honest about her uncertainty. And that’s exactly why it landed.

While most people post to signal expertise, Brianna did the opposite. she made it clear she was figuring things out in real-time. The feed rewarded her honesty.

Rather than develop a LinkedIn “strategy,” Brianna treated the platform like a professional journal, a way to make sense of her career and maybe help someone a few years behind her.

“My goal or my objective at that point was kind of just to treat it like a professional journal, which I still think I do actually, and to kind of just process my career and dissect it publicly, and maybe help people that are five years behind me or ten years behind me.”

This mindset helped her find her voice quickly, and it also gave her permission to post without overthinking it.

One of her go-to content filters?

“I write like I’m talking to myself from the previous week. If I thought it was interesting or helpful then, someone else probably will now.”

One of Brianna’s most unconventional approaches to LinkedIn? She barely talks about Verbatim, the agency she founded.

“I don’t talk about my role much. I talk about the journey of entrepreneurship. I kind of just let the work speak for itself.”

This counterintuitive choice has helped her grow trust, authority, and an audience that feels like a community—not just a lead funnel.

Her success shows that you don’t need to talk about your product every day to sell it. In fact, people often prefer you don’t.

Since that first post, Brianna has continued to share consistently, blending personal reflections with professional insights. That presence has quietly become the top-of-funnel for her entire agency.

And it’s not just vanity metrics.

  • 3,000+ influencer activations

  • Over $200 million in revenue generated for partner brands

  • More than 100 clients, all acquired through organic content and community

This is the new playbook for founder-led growth—built not on polished talking points, but personal truth.

What makes Brianna’s story so powerful is how unintentional it was.

She didn’t write a LinkedIn strategy. She wrote about being unsure.

She didn’t wait to be in an extroverted mood. She hit publish anyway.

She didn’t hype her business. She shared her journey.

And that’s exactly what made people follow.

“I made it pretty clear that I didn’t know what I was doing. And I actually kind of preferred that.”

The lesson? You don’t need a perfect plan to grow on LinkedIn. You just need the courage to start sharing what’s real.
