Hi everyone, I hope this letter finds you well. It has finally cooled down in Tokyo, which makes life seem a little bit lighter even though it seems like the rest of the world is burning down around my ears. I don’t have a lot to share at the moment as I haven’t really been doing much or engaged in life in Tokyo. I suppose the news has finally gotten to me; It’s exhausting and frightening to be an American. I try to remind myself that I am blessed to not be there. If you are there, I hope you are safe.

Japan still isn’t shipping to the USA, and I don’t see this changing anytime soon. As a result, it currently seems unlikely that I will be able to participate in the group show at the Wiregrass Museum in Alabama as I can’t send my work there, and more importantly I do not want the US government to profit from my work when it will be inevitably tarrifed. As a result, I’m slowly releasing collections of my original work on my web shop, here.

I have been really in a yellow mood.

Very yellow.

It always feels nice when someone reaches out to purchase my work as a surprise for a loved one. This work didn’t even get a chance to make its way to my web shop.

I also have a few brooches available here. I haven’t made any in quite a while because I haven’t exhibited in quite a while, and I had forgotten how fun they can be to make.

I haven’t made a stop motion video in quite a while because the program I used to use increased the fees and priced me out. I found a free alternative called Onion, and it’s pretty good for being free! I hope I can make more stop motion videos, it’s a bit of a hobby of mine.

I have also been working on my appliqué collection, and finished this larger piece recently. It’s been refreshing to be able to make slightly larger work.

At least there has been a lot of good media coming out recently. It’s been a good distraction.

1. The new collaboration album 41 Longfield Street Late ‘80s between William Tyler and Four Tet has been excellent to work to. Highly recommend if you like ambient electronic music.

2. I dislike superhero movies and the genre entirely, but I have been watching The show Peacemaker. It’s irreverent and tongue in cheek playful. John Cena is hilarious, and the Opening credits get me every time.

3. The creator of Bojack Horseman (one of my favorite shows) has a collection of short stories out called Someone Who Will Love You in All Your Damaged Glory. The stories are loosely centered around the theme of romantic relationships, but like Bojack Horseman, they’re completely unhinged and somewhat surreal. Overall a fun, weird read.
