This Heist is organised by Jesse, Riley, Jules and Diogo and grew out of their shared desire to support mental health and wellness in an accessible way! Come for the whole event, or just an hour.

Led by Mira and Nicole, supported by Lukas and Michael, Slo Mail is an intergenerational Canadian-run letter exchange connecting generations through old skool methods. Driven by their desire to seed community and share wisdom, the initiative is ongoing and you can sign up here.

Our first Heist group, organised by Mimi, Annie, Rhiannon and Eiman, kicked off the Heist launches with an in-person local community meet-up in Willowdale Park, Toronto, on 25th April 2026.

Sharing flyers and speaking directly with locals in the area, everyone was invited to gather for conversation, games, and pizza! Although the weather wasn’t great, it didn’t stop over 20 people attending!

No, we’re not the next Ocean’s Eleven — although we are pretty cool.

The Heist, a collective project, forms the third part of our year-long program — following on from the Quest, which kicks us off, and the online Hub calls which deepen the connections and learnings.

We call our collective projects “Heists” because they are high-impact experiments in putting something that matters into the world. Heists offer direct training in the capacities that define effective adults: navigating uncertainty, taking initiative and aligned risk, and caring for one another.

Around month 5/6, all Liminal Learners attend a weekend-long Heist Training. Here, our amazing team members — Catherine and Olena lead a training that shares design principles, prototyping, and collaboration through the Bloombox framework, an evidence-based methodology for multidisciplinary teams.

The cohort are then asked to form small groups, given a budget, assigned a mentor, and invited over 8 weeks to create and launch an offering that is close to their hearts. The offering can be anything: an app, an event, a product, a campaign, if it's tangible and shipped, it counts.

We know that the learnings from the Heist carry far beyond the project itself, equipping Liminal Learners with tangible experiences they can draw on in everyday life. As Mimi shared when reflecting on her experience, her advice for future Heist groups is simple:

Have faith. Just do it … even if you feel hopeless.
