Lily Lawson · Life with Lily - One sentence at a time

The observant amongst you may have noticed I have a number of books out there in the world. Eleven at the moment to be precise.

I did some maths. (This may be interesting or the bit you want to skip)

Amazon allows kindle unlimited books to be free for five days in every ninety day period.

Five days x eleven books is fifty five days not enough for a free book a day.

OK ninety day periods start at different times for each book as they start from the date they were published or when they were enrolled in kindle unlimited but this is complicated enough already. Also I did the free book a day thing for a month once it was a LOT to deal with. Full disclosure it may happen again FOR A MONTH.

Ninety days divided by seven is actually more or less twelve/thirteen but the things starting at different points means that it still works and I am still publishing books it’s not like I’ve stopped.

So how will you know which book is free?

There will be a link at the bottom of my Substack newsletter (which conveniently comes out on a Friday - ok mostly, odd slips have occurred but there will still be Free book Friday regardless - I will do a special newsletter if I can’t get a full newsletter out on the Friday).

Or you can visit my Amazon author page on a Friday but I’d kinda like you to read my newsletter, greedy little writer that I am.

I will promote the concept on socials but I won’t reveal the book (at least that’s the current plan)

The land of marketing requires observing, trying new things, monitoring, tweaking, and sometimes scrapping the whole thing and starting again.

Btw I have tweaked things so regardless of your time zone you SHOULD be able to get a free book on your Friday every Friday.

This week’s free book is -

My Father’s Daughter. (Poetry)

Happy reading
