I’m honestly such a FOOL for wanting to be productive during a BREAK. Come on girl…
I have just been trying to be chill and enjoy day to day life without worrying about all of it. Perhaps the radical thing to fight against the torture of capitalism is to just not to try to maximize every moment of my life?
Anyways, here are some things I’ve been up to:
Replaying Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom after not finishing it the first time around in 2023
Going to the gym
Being open to conversations/experiences/talking to strangers and attempting to casually make new friends in Taichung
Rewatching old shows I liked
Cooking all my meals cause I’m convinced I have IBS and am now doing that stupid FODMAP diet for a while which means I have to cook everything to avoid triggers because apparently ingredients like GARLIC and ONION can be a trigger and it’s impossible to eat out without eating garlic or onion. UGH. More on this later, perhaps? Or TMI???
Lying on the couch a lot
Going to Ikea and Costco a lot for some reason. I fucking love Costco. I think I’m old now.
That’s all for now. If I feel like traveling, maybe I’ll do it. But also if I don’t, that’s fine too. I have plenty of time to travel after this sabbatical anyways! THERE’S NO PRESSURE TO DO ANYTHING LIAN!!!
All this made me revisit a book (I never finished) and a newsletter I had written a long time ago in 2023 about the book called How to Do Nothing by Jenny Odell. You can read it below. I guess I forgot some of the lessons I learnt back then!
Lastly, here’s a friendly reminder that a human drew today’s newsletter:
I’ve been enjoying doing a fully analog process recently. How fun to just make a bunch of mistakes and wing it! Blah!
