Astrology - The Barbault Basket or Cradle?

I am an ambivalent purveyor of astrology. I’m not talking about the trite horoscopes you read in newspapers or magazines. I’m referring to the real scientific knowledge and expertise applied to reading the planets and their alignment with our beautiful rock.

We know that at least one space body has a significant role to play over our one, although technically not a planet because it doesn’t orbit the Sun, the Moon has an extraordinary influence on our oceans, seas and pretty much every living thing on this earth.

The Sun also has a vital role to play in our survival, indeed a solar storm emanating from this volatile star will have a direct effect on our planet several hours or days later.

So doesn’t it follow that potentially other planets could have similar effects depending on their position in our sky and with other celestial bodies?

Ancient civilisations relied on the stars to navigate the world’s seas and pre-historic sites seem to have been created to reflect certain constellations as seen in the skies at the time, although this is considered to be a bone of contention among some mainstream historians and archeologists.

Unfortunately, the Mystic Meg’s and Russel Grant’s from the television dumbed down the very real talent required to study astrology and it’s potential impact on predicting the future of humanity. People with a far greater knowledge than mine take the time to study the planetary alignments within the various astrological houses and they have an uncanny ability to predict changes in the future.

Now, I’d love to learn how to understand astrology but, unfortunately, I have a pathological fear of mathematics. So when I start looking at any courses, or even when I’m reading my birth chart, when words like “degrees”, “sextiles”, “trines” and “squares” start being mentioned my eyes glaze over, I break out in a cold sweat and my mind goes blank!

Recently I have been listening to people far more knowledgeable than me on the subject. People that have no interest in necessarily taking any money, although you can go further and pay them for more personal insights. I have a charlatan warning system, (my intuition - if only I listened to it more often I’d be in a much better place, but that’s a Substack for another day!) so I’m able to avoid the more obvious ones.

As previously mentioned, our ancestors looked to the skies and created marvels that have the most intelligent people on the planet scratching their heads and arguing over the timelines of when these things were built. The Incas, The Aztecs and even our recent history over two thousand years ago, all refer to astrological alignments. The one thing all our civilisations have in common is the reading of the skies and the stars.

Astrologically were are coming into a very portentous time for our planet, there is a very rare alignment that will occur on the 19th July 2026.

Known as the Barbault Basket, or Cradle, and it is considered to be one of the most significant planetary alignment events of the 21st century due to its extreme rarity and the specific harmonious geometry of the outer planets.

• Jupiter at 4° Leo

• Uranus at 4° Gemini

• Neptune at 4° Aries

• Pluto at 4° Aquarius

André Barbault interpreted this specific configuration as a marker for rebuilding and renewal.

• End of a Crisis Cycle: It signifies the conclusion of the challenging cycle that began with the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 2020. (Cast your mind back to what happened in 2020 and the radical change it had on western society!)

• Collective Shift: Barbault described it as the moment the “collective tide stops going out and starts coming back in,” marking a transition from breakdown to reconstruction. (Could this be the moment of collective awakening or the imposition of transhumanism?)

• Cooperation: The harmonious aspects suggest a period where powerful collective forces work together rather than in conflict, facilitating a “splendid relaunch of civilization.” (Who are these “collective forces” and are they working for the good of humanity as a whole or trying to achieve and ideological objective that, thus far, has failed every time it was implemented?)

There are four key themes that this rare planetary alignment is likely to effect:

• Collective Transformation: Driven by Pluto in Aquarius, focusing on societal restructuring, technology, and community power. Are we going to be subsumed by AI? Or will we join together to evolve in the way that the universe wants, rather than some megalomaniacal despots want us to evolve?

• Creative Leadership: Jupiter in Leo encourages confident self-expression used for the greater good rather than individual ego. (The greater good for who? Every faction fighting for power tries to convince others it’s for the “greater good”, they are all working from ego.)

• Spiritual Courage: Neptune in Aries inspires action aligned with deep spiritual values and imagination. (This seems to contradict the creative leadership point; deep spiritual values and imagination are an anathema to the various factions fighting for the “greater good”!)

• Innovation: Uranus in Gemini fosters new ideas, communication breakthroughs, and fresh perspectives. (Maybe this is the moment the egos are pushed to one side and a compromise is achieved?)

We will be living through an historically rare planetary alignment, it won’t be like in the films, it will sneak up on us, but it will happen, of that I have little doubt. There’s a precedent; a similar pattern last occurred in 1922 (we got WWI and WWII), and prior to that, during the Renaissance.

Regardless of whether you believe in horoscopes, or not, to be forewarned is to be forearmed and, as in all things human, intuition and a dollop of pragmatism is required during this time of planetary and potentially human upheaval. What a time to be alive!!!
