Mauritius: The National Human Rights Commission has released a report calling for full equal marriage rights for same-sex couples, as well as a process for legal gender change and full services for trans people in hospitals. The NHRC is also calling for specific commissions to examine ways to eliminate anti-LGBT discrimination in law. The report comes as at least two couples have filed cases seeking equal marriage rights, arguing that nothing in Mauritian law explicitly prohibits same-sex marriage, and that the Supreme Court has ruled the constitution forbids sexual orientation discrimination.
