Good enough is perfect

A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with inattentive-type ADHD. At the time, it felt like it explained so much about me and the things I struggled with. I started medication, and I was hopeful that it would be enough to balance out the issues I wa […]

Some more good & bad bike part purchases

As always, I'm trying out lots of new bike parts. Some are better than others, so here's some short reviews of the best and worst things I've bought recently: Elitewheels Edge carbon wheels, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport R tyres, Sidebike carbon cycling shoes, Exustar PRS-1 pedals, RideNow TPU inner tubes, TOPUMP TB2 PRO electric pump, and YKYWBIKE jerseys & bib tights.

In an effort to resist the urge to be a miserable bastard, here's a list of all of the things I'm grateful for this year in lieu of a regular "Year review"

Finishing up my summer of fundraising

As I've mentioned before, I spent the summer raising money for Cyclists Fighting Cancer. This past weekend I did the final event, a 245km hilly ride.

Filter RSS/Podcast feeds

Instead of finding a better Podcast app, I created a little PHP utility server to allow me to filter and rename Podcast (and by extension, RSS) feeds to create playlists.

The Raleigh Refurb

Filtering podcast feeds

I subscribe to some Patreon podcast feeds, which often contain lots of content that I don't want to listen to right now. After trying a few workarounds, I found a tool that lets me filter the feeds and just receive the episodes I care about

Manchester - Blackpool 2024

Just a few shots from this year s Manchester - Blackpool (and back) ride. There was no finish line photographer last year, so this year was the first time I ve had any photos of me on my bike. It was a great ride, although the rain was pretty bad in […]

Upgrading my tyres and tubes

After never really wanting to spend the extra money, I finally replaced my stock Continental Ultra Sport III tyres with Continental Grand Prix 5000, and I was blown away.

PSA: Cleaning keyboards

Sometimes I think I can be quite clever. This is not one of those times.

Just turn it off already

No, I m not talking about all computers[1]. Specifically, I m talking about Slack. I m pretty terrible at maintaining that work/life boundary when Slack is involved. I usually keep it installed on my phone so that I can respond to messages during the […]

Indie Game Boy games

Since buying a new handheld emulator this year, I ve been hunting for some fun games to play. I ve got a library of just about every Game Boy/Colour[1]/Advance game that was released in the original run, but that means a lot of low-quality games with […]
