Lisa Max · Let the Children Fly

A school classroom is loaded with atmospheres. You have the atmosphere of the leadership, the teacher, the little girl who feels isolated, the joy of the birthday boy, the sadness of the student whose friend is out sick, the child whose dog died, and the excitement of the child who is flying to Grandma’s when school is over. Each person is releasing something into the atmosphere. Think of it like a hula hoop that each person carries around, and inside their hoop is what they are experiencing. We bump into other people’s hula hoops constantly and get splashed with what they are feeling and releasing.

That which steals, kills, and destroys will always be around me, but because He who is in me is greater, I have the authority to release that which brings life, joy, and blessings! The key to releasing it is a VERB! We get to do something about the situations around us in the spiritual realm. Jesus said that He has all authority and then commissioned us to go out and do greater works than He did.

If I walk into a room and suddenly feel super angry, but I know it isn’t me, I know I have come under an atmosphere. I simply say a prayer/declaration like this, “Anger, I see you and forbid you from influencing me and those around me. I release joy, happiness, and peace in the name of Jesus.” That’s it! It’s like being a police officer and walking into a room and saying, “Hey, you, bad guy, get out,” and they have to obey because you have authority as a law enforcement officer in the name of Jesus. We are heaven’s law enforcement officers!

When children are not taught that there is a spiritual atmosphere around them, they often come under the atmosphere. I have had to help them see, “Sweetie, that is coming ON you, not from within you.”

We get ourselves into trouble or a bit of a swirl when we think everything we encounter is coming from just us.

I often stop and ask, “What are you feeling is in the atmosphere right now?” They never cease to amaze me at how strongly they feel JUNK! We simply take authority over it. We do this with certain people, in a new situation, over their classrooms, at grocery store, after an interaction with a rude person, at a restaurant, etc.

Another great teaching tool for children is to take a spray bottle and catch them off guard by spraying them. Teach them that, like a sneeze, we are always releasing something into the atmosphere. When we throw a tantrum at the store, we aren’t just doing that to mom, but to everyone around us. When we hit our siblings, we are releasing that into the atmosphere. When you are kind, that gets released, too. As you teach, keep surprising them with sudden sprays that fall onto their skin. When we release God’s love, respect, honor, kindness, joy, etc., we are releasing those things into the atmosphere. Which one do they want to release? Since my kids have a grid for this now, all I have to say is, “Hey guys, what do you think just got released into the atmosphere?”

We can teach children to take the spiritual temperature of a room and then release the opposite. There is power in the name of Jesus that shifts things in the atmosphere everywhere I go!!

I am training them to first discern the atmosphere and then second to use their authority over it.

Can you see the difference between something being IN you verses something coming ON you? This is essential to discern because your response will be different. If it is IN you then you (or your child) will need some heart attention, but if it is coming ON you then you simply use your authority over it.
