While no two humans or stories are exactly the same, there are some significant common characteristics behind the patterns of estrangement.

  • One in four families are dealing with estrangement.

  • Not all parents are abusive and uncaring. In fact, the majority of the parents being cut off are God-fearing, humble mothers and fathers who have sincerely done their best to give their children what they could. They can admit that they made mistakes and could’ve handled certain situations better, but they are not cold-hearted. They are parents who deeply love their children and have made a sincere effort to do right by their child.

  • Estrangement is falling on one child, while the other siblings have strong connections and are thriving.

  • All children who are cutting off their parents have access to phones.

  • Most adult children who cut off family enter into some more of medical level sickness or health issues.

  • All across the globe, the language is exactly the same, despite cultural and language differences: “I am no longer interested in what doesn’t serve me,” “I am protecting my peace,” “I am not ok with the level of access you have to me.”

  • There is a badge of honor for how long they have been cut off and estranged from their parents, similar to how AA celebrates sobriety.

  • Moms are being labeled narcissistic because they have required something of the child (homework, chores, being kind to siblings, etc.).

  • Dads are being called abusive because they have set boundaries and limits in the home (discipline, not allowing free time with certain friends, consequences, limits on gaming, etc.).

  • Character development, calling out sin, and setting boundaries are now considered abusive and controlling.

  • Any emotional discomfort is considered toxic.

  • Cutting off is being reframed as ‘boundaries’ (yet in order to have boundaries, you have to be in a relationship, as boundaries are what keep things healthy).

  • The treatment from the child is cruel, such as refusing to show up when a parent is critically ill, dying, or refusing to attend funerals.

  • Most parents report not wanting to use their voice out of fear of driving their child further.

  • Many parents report feeling stuck in the grief process with a deep wound that does not cease or lighten up.

  • Many parents report having leg or foot issues, such as broken bones or serious injury, which is a characteristic of this particular demonic activity at play.

  • Interpretations of childhood events are rewritten. There is a demonic agenda to reframe childhood events. Example: A young adult shares that her family often went camping, which was always a fun and happy memory, but the reframing message is that camping is neglectful and abusive because all other families went to Disney for their vacations. The memory remains, but the interpretation of it is now through the lens of unloving parents who did not give their child what the child was entitled to.
