Salaam Alaykum Wa rahmatullahi Wa barakatuhu

Thank you for clicking on the newsletter dear reader, I welcome you back after a long break.

And if you are new here, thanks for subscribing and welcome to ‘Letters from Quran’ where I share weekly reminders from Quran for your well being and mine.

Today we’re looking into one of the most common yet underlooked problem that you face, I face, even the most pious, religious, diligent scholars face and that is-feeling not enough as a muslim,

feeling like not doing enough

not memorising enough

not praying enough

not giving enough charity

and the list goes on…

If you see yourself in the reflection of the mirrors of insufficiency, then you are at the right place, please read until the end to find a way out of it the next time you feel it.

Bismillah

In a world that often celebrates grand gestures and visible achievements, islam gently redirects our focus toward something deeper and more enduring:- consistency in small deeds.

This is something that even modern psychologists support too

‘multiple consistent small tasks »»»» one ginormous task that can cause burn out’

What may seem insignificant to us can carry immense weight in the sight of Allah when done regularly and sincerely..no matter how small it is to us.

Islam does not burden the believer with perfection, but rather invites them into a lifelong journey of steady devotion. Even the smallest act,if done with sincerity and continuity, can transform the heart and strengthen one’s connection with Allah.

You can try that yourself with anything.

Being consistent with a small deed everyday also teaches us the beauty of discipline.

The Qur’an reminds us in Surah Az Zalzalah (99:7):-

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًۭا يَرَهُۥ

“So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.”

This powerful ayah highlights that no act is ever too small to matter.

Every quiet الخير, every unnoticed effort, every whispered dua is preserved and valued.

Consistency builds a relationship with Allah.

A single moment of worship may inspire, but repeated moments create spiritual discipline and closeness.

Allah says in Surah Al ankabut (29:69):

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ

“And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways.”

The act of “striving” here isn’t limited to grand sacrifices, it includes the daily effort to show up, even when it’s difficult.

A few minutes of Qur’an recitation daily, two rakahs of prayer in the quiet of the night, or a small act of kindness…these are the خطوات that lead to divine guidance.

Large, occasional acts can sometimes be influenced by emotion or external motivation. But small, consistent deeds are often done quietly, purely for Allah especially when no one else is watching.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى says in Surah Tawbah (9:120) that touches like a divine promise:

🟡إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

“Indeed, Allah does not allow the reward of those who do good to be lost.”

Even if a deed feels repetitive or unnoticed, its reward is محفوظ with Allah. What matters is not how impressive the act appears, but how sincere and consistent it is.

Directly traversing from your heart to Allah’s register.

One of the greatest wisdoms behind consistent small acts is sustainability. A believer who adopts manageable acts is more likely to remain firm over time. Islam encourages balance…not burnout.

Allah reminds us in Surah Baqarah (2:185) which always feels like a comforting cloak everytime i read it:

يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمُ ٱلْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ ٱلْعُسْرَ

“Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.”

this verse reassures us that our journey to Allah is meant to be steady and gentle, not overwhelming.

small acts done regularly align perfectly with this divine principle.

~~~~~~~~~
Over time, small consistent actions purify the heart, increase taqwa, and bring sakeenah (tranquility). what begins as a small habit becomes a source of نور in one’s life.
A daily dhikr, a regular صدقة (even if it is small)gradually shapes a heart that is connected, aware, and alive with remembrance of Allah.
  • In Islam, greatness is not measured by the size of an action, but by its sincerity and consistency.
  • Small deeds, when done regularly for the sake of Allah, carry a weight far beyond what we can perceive.
  • So begin with what is easy. Stay consistent. And trust that every small step you take toward Allah is seen, valued, and multiplied in ways only He knows.
  • You are Enough as long as Allah-The Perfectly Sufficient is Guiding you.
Until next time,
🌼فِي أَمَانِ اللَّهِ
