#129 - MayISketch 2026 challenge outcome

This May we entered 4th edition of MayISketch challenge. Something that started as a personal goal to leverage simple daily sketching for personal growth transformed into a movement of Self Reflection.

This year was different. There was an explicit ask to reflect, observe, draw Insights, and commit to a tiny action to drive growth. AtomicSketches became the enabler.

I send out weekly newsletter packing content on Sketchnotes and using them in day to day life. Also my experiments, experiences, learning, and mistakes.

Here are some sketches we created together

🎯 By the end of May, we designed and created a personal journal of insights and commitments.
I am stoked by the way Sketchnoting is helping us for personal growth. And this exercise is not one time. It’s happening everyday through AtomicSketches.

The group discussed reflections on their “May I Sketch” activity, with participants sharing their experiences and growth in sketchnoting over the past three years. Anjali, a student at NID, expressed gratitude for the supportive community and shared how sketchnoting provided her an outlet for creative expression that wasn’t available during her animation studies. Anjali shared that participating helped her focus on conveying ideas clearly rather than seeking perfection in her sketches.

Deepa mentioned she had difficulty completing the challenge due to travel (she later on catched up and completed it), while Kanupriya expressed gratitude for facilitating the monthly activity and noted how it helped her reflect on personal growth over three years of participation. Jatin reflected on four years of running the challenge and noted how this year’s reflective focus was different from previous educational themes, requiring participants to share more personal insights.
