What I'm Fighting For

I just restacked an Indivisible post about “how we fight back.”

I've been thinking a lot lately, not about how, but about why I'm fighting back against the current Republican regime. There are so many things to fight for that I don't understand why more people are not willing to join our fight.

These are the things I'm fighting for (please forgive any overlaps):

• Justice

• Equality

• Democracy

• The Constitution (including the Bill of Rights and all its amendments

• The rule of law

• Human rights

• Civil rights

• Voting rights

• Immigrants (documented or not)

• All human beings no matter their race or religion

• Education

• History, meaning real history that includes black history, Native American history, and immigrant history

• Public schools

• Public libraries and books

• Labor/Union rights

• Worker safety

• Environmental health

• Clean air and water

• Healthy food

• Medical/diseases research

• Health care for all

• Humanitarian assistance

• Norman Rockwell’s “Four Freedoms” -- freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from fear, and freedom from want

• Love and kindness

• I'm sure there are lots more things worth fighting for
