I just restacked an Indivisible post about “how we fight back.”
I've been thinking a lot lately, not about how, but about why I'm fighting back against the current Republican regime. There are so many things to fight for that I don't understand why more people are not willing to join our fight.
These are the things I'm fighting for (please forgive any overlaps):
Justice
Equality
Democracy
The Constitution (including the Bill of Rights and all its amendments
The rule of law
Human rights
Civil rights
Voting rights
Immigrants (documented or not)
All human beings no matter their race or religion
Education
History, meaning real history that includes black history, Native American history, and immigrant history
Public schools
Public libraries and books
Labor/Union rights
Worker safety
Environmental health
Clean air and water
Healthy food
Medical/diseases research
Health care for all
Humanitarian assistance
Norman Rockwell’s “Four Freedoms” -- freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from fear, and freedom from want
Love and kindness
I'm sure there are lots more things worth fighting for
What do you think?
