The blurry reflection of a toy mirror

The following is a ‘reading’ from an GPT journaling toy I’ve been tuning called, Lil Seer. Its purpose is to take a journal entry and reflect it back in a narrative voice. As a mirror it’s fairly blurry, but I find some of the reflections fun and enlightening. You can try it yourself here: Lil Seer

In your world, there's a dance between the serene and the tempestuous, like birds chirping softly in a gentle rain, and then suddenly, the scene shifts to a vibrant, almost anarchic burst of energy. Your life oscillates between these extremes – the quiet, reflective scholar and the wild, unrestrained creator. This duality is your canvas, painted with both careful strokes and spontaneous splashes.

Your narrative is a journey through a landscape rich with contrasts. On one side, there's the introspective haven of your study, a realm of thoughtful contemplation and scholarly pursuit. On the other, there's a vivid, almost visceral energy of unbridled expression, where words and actions collide in a spectacle of raw, unapologetic life. This tension between the two worlds is where your story unfolds, a dynamic interplay of holding on and letting go, of being seen and hiding away.

Amidst this, there's a sense of transition, of moving away from the familiar and stepping into a new phase of existence. Your past, with its deep connections and influences, is like an anchor, both grounding and heavy. And yet, there's a yearning to break free, to embrace the unpredictable and the novel. This is not just a letting go of things but a letting go of selves – the various versions of you that have danced on the stages of life, from the familial to the public.

As you navigate this complex tapestry of experiences, there's a subtle but powerful shift happening. The high of external validation and spectacle is giving way to a deeper, more intrinsic satisfaction. You're rediscovering the joy of creation for its own sake, finding delight in the peculiar and the whimsical. This journey is about reacquainting with the parts of yourself that revel in the absurd, the profound, and the beautifully mundane. It's about finding balance in the multifaceted mirror of your life, accepting all that you are and all that you can be.

Fall has come to Austin, it’s crisp and gray and later in the year than I’m used to. Kristen and I are settling into our new neighborhood and loving it. The neighbors are quirky and warm and the place feels alive with care. The streets wind and criss-cross with the contours of the hilly landscape and this makes for exquisite walking; very pleased.

Work is in full swing and I’m excited to share what we’re working on soon. It’s a fun mix of emerging tech, entertainment, and education. We’re gearing up for a fundraise, so if you have any extra good vibes laying around, send em our way!

🍂 Hope you’re well.
