I always think it’s a good idea to have a well stocked first aid kit on hand. You never know when you’re going to need it, especially if you or a loved one experience chronic illness or if you have kiddos! Whether it’s a cut or scrape, a headache, a stomach ache or an emergency that comes up when you least expect it, being prepared with the essentials makes it so much easier to take care of yourself and your family.
Most conventional first aid kit essentials contain ingredients like parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes and artificial fragrances and flavors. I don’t know about you, but those aren’t ingredients I want in my first aid supplies, especially when some of these products are going directly onto irritated or broken skin! If you already deal with allergies or sensitive skin, it also makes sense to be a little more mindful about what you’re using for first aid. Personally, I am also someone who is sensitive/reactive to dyes and chemicals, so I am extra careful!
The good news is there are lots of cleaner options out there that are just as effective! From natural pain and allergy support to non-toxic bandages, skin soothing products, every day first aid antiseptics and more, you can easily build a first kit with products that you feel good about having on hand.
