The first superpower of grief is perspective. Losing someone you love automatically alters your view on the fragility of life, the limited time we have here, and just how quickly joy can change form.

From a certain vantage point, it can also feel like you are a victim of unfairness (and in some cases you are). Why did this happen to me/my loved one? We were supposed to have our entire retirement together. Out of all the possibilities, why did this accident, or cancer befall my child, my loved one? Why were they cheated out of their full life? It feels like a great disruption to the natural order.
