After a gruelling 17 hours of flying and an equal number of hours spent in Delhi on a layover, I am finally in Nepal!
Apart from a bit of culture shock and jet lag, I am doing well. I start my Everest Basecamp trek this morning, feeling nervous about the potential for altitude sickness and being cold but looking forward to the experience immensely.
Since my last update, I spent a week in Chicago and had a wonderful time taking in the architecture and city views, visiting friends and loved ones, and also randomly coming across free jazz and art festivals. I also had the chance to visit the Design Museum which was holding a free exhibit on time.
Being on time. Time for a break. Quality time. Time and time again. Big time. Time is money. What a funny thing time is - especially as I sit 9.5 to 10.5 hours in the future from many of my friends and family members. This is a short update as I’m about to get on a tiny charter plane to start the trek. Fortunate to be with an amazing crew of people and especially grateful to have this experience to wrap up my last month of sabbatical.
Let’s hope the fillangie is okay:
