This Saturday, America turns 250. It’s the Fourth of July and it appears we will be able to commemorate it with a leviathan heat wave that will send the masses skittering to their local pool or lake - if it hasn’t dried up. The world has an audible reverberation of uncertainty leaving the national holiday feeling rather conflicted. However you choose to spend this most American of holidays, we hope you do it with friends and family. Community is a balm to quiet the chatter of uncertainty weighing upon us and we are lucky to have a strong one in this shop and this village. Our energy, love and efforts are expended in this community and when we dispense with the ancillary and unnecessary, we have a lot of be grateful for. So no matter what level of glee or despondence you may feel, we hope you will light a grill, call in those you hold dear and celebrate as you like.

If you are still with me after the profound exercise in restraint of the previous paragraph, here’s some shop news. We will be open on the Fourth for normal hours. We’re going to be well stocked with hotdog's and burgers but grilling and smoking cuts will be at a premium. Feel free to put in an order and we will have what you need. Saturdays in Sax will be going on per usual and the Alamance Jazz Band will be performing. It’s really a great time to see a big band on a hot summer day if you don’t have plans. We will have sandwiches at the shop starting around noon, so you may consider grabbing an easy lunch if you pop in early. We’ll also have plenty of wine chilled in the cooler if you need something cold with immediacy.

We will be here all week, dispensing with good vibes, excellent meat and a fantastic playlist. The shop has a different feel in the summer. The big windows are lit up, the music has more bounce and most of us are looking forward to some forthcoming vacation. Feel free to come, chat and linger. We’re here about all day.
