Commentary From The Cedar Lounge Revolution

Many thanks to the person who forwarded this document to the Archive. This was released by Militant Left. As noted on the Archive:
Militant Left is a Trotskyist group, formed in 2019 and affiliated with the Committee for a Workers’ International (CWI).
Initially named CWI Ireland, the organisation arose from a split in the CWI in 2019, which saw the Socialist Party affiliate with the CWI Majority (which later became International Socialist Alternative). Socialist Party members sympathetic to the ‘re-formed’ CWI left to found CWI Ireland. The name Militant Left was adopted in 2020.
A straightforward leaflet, this argues that:
When people feel there is no effective fighttback on issues [like cost of living and the housing crunch] then the far-right can exploit the situation. They entice their followers to lash out at minorities and vulnerable people who are not the problem.
And:
They can become a greater danger if we do not act. That is why an alternative must be built that not only challenges the far-right but also cuts the legs out from under them by taking on the issues that matter to working class communities.
