Tyler Schwartz · Learn Through Stories

I started playing chess in 2007.

In 2009 I beat the US Chess Champion, Hikaru Nakamura.

I taught chess in a preschool for 10 years. Here I discovered my love of watching people learn my favorite game.

In 2015 I launched Story Time Chess. In 2021 Story Time Chess won Toy of the Year.

Story Time Chess won TOTY again in 2025.

One year ago, I started coding with AI and built some fun little things.

On January 16th, 2026, I downloaded Claude Code. Four weeks ago today.

I want people to love chess how I love chess. So I built chesspath.app.

I didn’t make Chess Path for chess players. I made it for people. And I made it to show people how fun chess is.

Yesterday 23 puzzles were done on Chess Path. I think this is going to be a fun number to track.

I love teaching chess. And I’m making chesspath.app exactly how I want the chess experience to be.

Subscribe here for updates. Make an account on Chess Path, it’s free. This is the beginning.

I think this is going to be a fun story.
