Hi there, You just opened Canva , you stare at the blank design, search for a template, choose one, change the colour, change the font, move your logo, decide you hate it, delete everything and start again.
Two hours later...You still haven’t posted anything.
Sound familiar?
Canva probably isn’t the problem.
The problem is that many businesses start designing before they start thinking.
We open the tool before we know:
What are we trying to say?
Who are we speaking to?
Why should they care?
What action do we want them to take?
And then we expect Canva to somehow give us the answer. But Canva is a tool, it is not your marketing strategy.
1. WHAT are we saying?
One clear message. Not five.
2. WHO are we saying it to?
Your customer. Not “everyone.”
3. WHY should they care?
What problem, question, need or desire are you speaking to?
4. WHAT should they do next?
Read?
Comment?
Click?
Enquire?
Buy?
Once you know those four things, design becomes much easier.
Because now Canva has a job. AI can help you write. Canva can help you design. Scheduling tools can help you post, but tools work best when the thinking comes first.
This is exactly why we focus on practical marketing inside Learn Social Media.
We don’t only want to show you which buttons to click.
We want to help you understand the thinking behind the tools.
