Leanna Ellis - Romance · Love, Life, Laughter

Hey, y’all! 💕 I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re new, welcome to my front porch. 🏡✨

I write stories that are easy to share—with grandmothers, daughters, and the women friends in between. Sweet, swoony, closed-door romances with heartfelt emotion, small-town roots, and happy endings you can count on.

Stories meant to be passed down. ☕💛

🤗 You’re in the right place.

💛 LOVE 💌

My husband said it just the other day.

“Hey, hon, guess what starts this weekend?”

“What’s that?”

“Football.”

Somewhere in my brain, I heard the ominous...

DUN-DUN-DUN-DUNNNN. 🎶😂

Football season had arrived. 🏈

🌱 LIFE

It happens every year, so I shouldn’t be surprised.

He’s up early on Saturday morning to watch some college football show.

Retired players discussing who’s gonna win.

Interviews with coaches.

Cheerleaders.

Probably an interview with the hot dog seller if they can find him. 🌭😂

Then the games begin.

One rolls into another.

And another.

And another.

I’d be able to keep up better if they didn’t change the uniforms every week.

Now, I don’t actually mind football.

Mostly because football season has a wonderful side benefit.

My husband is happy and entertained.

He doesn’t need me to supervise chores or accompany him on errands. Although it’s probably not the time to announce, “Let’s clean out the garage,” if I want any help.

Suddenly...

I have hours of completely guilt-free time on my hands. 😂

😂 LAUGHTER

Whatever am I going to do with all that time as one football game spins into the next?

Well...

Over the years, my husband and I have worked out a system.

I think it’s good for us.

Possibly even good for our marriage. 😂💕

And since football season is upon us once again, I thought this was the perfect time to share it.

Check out my new blog post below.

So tell me—are you a football fan? 🏈 Or do you have your own favorite way to spend those long Saturday afternoons? Okay, Friday nights, Saturday… morning, afternoon, and night, Sunday… then there’s Monday night. What days am I missing?

Well, if you have to put up your favorite team’s banner, get to it! Or get out your old cheerleading uniform and pompoms, I understand. Or if you’ve got time on your hands… hang out here on the Front Porch. Anybody remember this cheer: “Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon rind…”?😂

With Love, Life, and Laughter (not always in that order),

From the Porch Swing

Football season has arrived at our house. And over the years, my husband and I have discovered a surprisingly effective way to keep everybody happy. 😂💕

💬 What Our Friends Are Saying...

Speaking of men who’d rather be doing just about anything than watching a rom-com... how about a cowboy? 🤠😂

This reader had this to say about The Branded Heart Ranch:

⭐⭐⭐⭐ “I LOVED THIS!”

🪑 Come Sit a Spell...

If football isn’t quite your idea of weekend entertainment—or you just need something good while everyone else is yelling at the television—I’ve got you covered. 😂📚

💕 Rom-Coms Worth Staying In For

A collection of clean, cinematic romances made for escaping into someone else’s happily ever after. 🎬💛

Until next time, y’all... may your team win, your book be a keeper, and nobody ask you to run an errand during the best part. 🏈📚😂

And if you need somewhere to escape, there’s always a chair waiting on the Front Porch. 🏡💛
