Jupiter in Leo: 2026 – 2027

Jupiter enters Leo at 06:52 (BST) on June 30, 2026. It will remain in this sign until 05:49 (BST) July 26, 2027.

In my natal chart, I have Jupiter in Leo in my 1st house and Leo is my Ascending sign. So, I’m looking forward to this transit! One of the first things we can say about Jupiter in Leo is that this is a year to shine in the area of life indicated by the house where Jupiter is moving in your chart. At the bottom of this post, you can read about this influence to see how it might manifest for you.

Leo is ruled by the Sun, hence the liberal references to light, illumination, shining, sparks that may pepper this piece. Because Jupiter itself expands upon what it touches. As I write, he shows me a dimmer switch being turned up to maximum. That, booms Jupiter, is how you do it now! And then he prances across the room, beautifully light on his feet despite his portly appearance.

There are many ways we can interpret this, as with any transit. And given that the South Node will also be in Leo whilst Jupiter is here, there are some shadow expressions we will need to look at (Pluto pricks up his ears). But first let’s go with the beneficial expressions because Jupiter is the Great Benefic after all.

What does that mean?

It means that Jupiter’s influence brings opportunities for growth, expansion, developments. Where Jupiter moves, he brings lucky breaks and chances to make life bigger and better. Jupiter can often feel like the rewards for the hard work we do in our Saturn house – whether natal or by transit. Jupiter is increase of all kinds and therefore it magnifies what it touches.

So, in Leo, Jupiter increases our creative potential. Come out and play, shouts Jupiter to our inner child. And so out we rush, coloured pens held by chubby fingers, ink splots everywhere, running to show our favourite people the picture we made, or the poem we wrote, or to show off our favourite dance, or sing the song we composed. Jupiter in Leo wants to bring out the star within because, says Leo, we were all born to shine.

This is a typically gregarious placement where we’re encouraged to be MORE, to step up onto life’s stage, to be less risk averse because sometimes you just have to grab life and live it in the moment. Jupiter as sky God, also encourages us to zoom out, look with a wider lens, see things from above. Because when we see through the eyes of the Gods, the landscape of life is so much more interesting – a patchwork of possibility. Creative expression, a zest for life, getting in touch with the inner child, trying out new hobbies, falling in love with life again…these are all the positive potentials of this glittering show. And there is certainly potential for these energies to manifest in dreamlike ways given that Jupiter will also trine Saturn and Neptune in Aries. Whereas Neptune will only receive one trine, it seems like one is enough. Here is the big dream, the wish upon a star! And then Saturn says, okay, let’s make this happen. The three trines to Saturn illustrate that our ideas are going to take work…but it’s likely to be work we’ll enjoy if we take personal responsibility and make ourselves accountable.

But, as I hinted above, there are some shadows, as there always are where light is involved. Because without shadow there would be no contrast, no shade, everything would be bleached to the bone or burned to a crisp. Hard aspects between Pluto, Chiron and the South Node all give this story richness and depth, and yes, perhaps some drama too. But there is certain to be a level of protection, given Jupiter’s involvement, and a sense that some good will come out of whatever challenges we face.

The most important story here is that Jupiter in Leo will be directly involved with the Cradle pattern, prominent during July 2026. It’s likely to be a fascinating month that seeds important advancements. Here is an image to show the pattern. The aspect name was first coined by Louise and Bruno Huber from the Huber school of astrology. It’s a pattern associated with positive developments and French Astrologer Andrew Barbeau suggested that there will be a lot of momentum carrying us forward when it comes to technological progress too. Essentially, Jupiter opposite Pluto works like a shield to Uranus sextile Neptune (the baby). In this case, our ‘baby’ in the cradle is a collective spiritual awakening, if we allow it to happen.

But if we add in Chiron, we can see that there is a T-square pattern overlaid onto the cradle, and the protective qualities of Jupiter opposite Pluto now become a potential problem that must be resolved. We can’t sell out Mother Earth for the sake of technological advancements. And whilst Jupiter is encouraging us all to take a few more risks in life, they need to be calculated. Because if we get addicted (Pluto) to the rush, we can gamble away everything we created in our urge to have ultimate control.

With Uranus trine Pluto as part of the Cradle pattern (and Jupiter sextile Uranus), our robot revolution might well be unconsciously rooted in a desire to cheat death itself. My metal twin (Uranus in Gemini!) cannot die or be hurt and can therefore live forever (Pluto in Aquarius). It’s a seductive state of affairs for sure. So, Chiron in Taurus comes in to remind us all to keep it real.

The Jupiter, Pluto Chiron T-square is a prompt for us to face our shadows so that we deal with our fears around survival. We can’t afford to sell out to appease our fears. We have to fix the Earth, heal our values and face our mortal pain – then and only then comes the great power and joy held within Jupiter and Pluto’s arms.

Note that as Jupiter progresses through this transit in Leo, it will form two trines to Chiron, with a third taking place when Chiron has fully moved into Taurus and Jupiter has moved into Virgo. It feels very much like a story of the harvest that comes following a severe pruning. Sometimes we have to cut back in order to let the light in.

And how we ‘cut back’ is shown via the South Node. Jupiter will make three conjunctions to this point during this transit. Let it go, let it go, let it go. Let go of false pride. Let go of ego. Let go of attention seeking behaviour. Let go of living in the drama so that you can enjoy your story! Let go of needing constant praise or validation instead of seeking it from an internal source. Let go of being too proud to ask for help or too full of stage fright to make your entrance. Let go of being so fearful of imposter syndrome that you can’t play your part. Don’t forget that Jupiter is associated with religion and faith, so self-belief is key.

Positively, Jupiter conjunct the South Node is also an opportunity to collect on so called ‘good karma’. This is about the warm connections you made along the way, the work you did in the past that is now paying you interest. For many, perhaps the way to gain the benefits of Jupiter in Leo is to let go of the need to stand out, the need to be seen, the need to be creative. Think of acting. We’ve all seen movies where it’s very clear that the actor is acting. Every phrase, every gesture seems slightly over-done. The actor who captivates us isn’t acting at all. Instead, they are living in that moment, at one with the character. They aren’t ‘being’ the part, they are the part. And this is what many of us need to learn in all kinds of ways, that we don’t need to covet someone else’s light, because we have plenty of our own.

Your spiritual life gets a boost under this influence. Whilst outer world growth maybe harder to see, your inner world is filled with creative promise. Find your faith or path.
