Don’t think about yourself 5 years from now. Or even 1 year from now.

Think about September you. You in one month.

  • If Hilary Duff can go on tour after a 10-year break, you can hop a timeline in 30 days.

  • If oats can become milk, you can shift careers overnight.

  • If Kesha can make art out of teeth… your hobby isn’t too niche and you can launch a side hustle tomorrow.

I want you to imagine building radical assuredness in your gifts, talents, and ability to get PAID over the next 30 days.

You’re going to start today by getting to know WHY people want to pay you. That’s what this post is about.

Whether you’re sick and tired of your boss asking to “huddle” without warning, or rolling your eyes at the severe dysfunction that plagues your current company, I know the real thing holding you back from making a change isn’t fear.

(Ok maybe there is some fear. We’re in a serious predicament over here in the US… but that’s a discussion for another time.)

There are only two skills that financially secure folks with stable careers have that you don’t (yet).

And it’s those two skills that keep fear small, and quiet. It’s the difference between staying at a dead-end job because “you’re so grateful to even have a job” and making a real plan to leave and ensuring the stars align in your favor.

Those two skills?

People. And positioning.

People who leave companies when they aren’t being treated well or making what they deserve do NOT have more trade skills than you.

They don’t have more certifications. More experience. Or more accomplishments.

They are just good at leveraging these two things:

  • WHO they know

  • HOW they get results

People struggle with asking for a raise for the same reason they procrastinate updating their resumes and working on their LinkedIn even though they know it’s necessary to start the job hunt.

It’s also the same reason they hate networking!

Why do all those things make us wanan vom??? Because we don’t know how to talk about ourselves. Or who to talk to.

  • We don’t know how to network without it feeling icky.

  • We don’t know how to communicate our uniqueness.

In this post, we’re going to get hyper focused on the latter: communicating why you’re special AF.

If you need help with networking, this oughtta do the trick!

Positioning is important because most of us have no clue what makes people attracted to us. Whether it’s for a first date or a first interview.

So we slave away writing boring resumes trying to accurately convey what we do when we should be focused on making it clear how we do our jobs.

Employers, clients, bosses, teammates (and even future lovers) all want to know the same thing:

What is it like to experience you?

  • What happens when you’re in the room and the stakes are high?

  • What happens when dysfunction plagues your project?

  • What happens when your team needs to think outside the box and color outside the lines?

That’s why it’s mission critical for you to get the map that shows you EXACTLY while you’re so good at what you do

The part of your design that makes you most likely to ATTRACT a new job, a better salary, or start an entirely new venture is your profile. Or what I also like to call your archetype.

More specifically, it’s this aspect of your identity that makes YOU magnetic, intriguing, and irresistible to the people around you

Your profile line is also one of the easiest ways to understanding what people WANT pay you for.

There’s something much deeper in you than what’s currently on your resume that radiates value. And everyone radiates differently. That’s why your specific profile is so important.

The profile shows how YOU uniquely create value.

Don’t know your profile yet? It says 10 seconds to find out!

Every person is made up of a very specific blend of these archetypes. But in Human Design we look at your most predominant two that make up your conscious and subconscious personality. There are 6 different lines and 12 different possible combinations.

  • 💓 Line 1: The Researcher 👉🏻 creating value through certainty

  • 💓 Line 2: The Wizard 👉🏻 creating value through authenticity

  • 💓 Line 3: The Scientist 👉🏻 creating value through experimentation

  • 💓 Line 4: The Mayor 👉🏻 creating value through connection

  • 💓 Line 5: The Superhero 👉🏻 creating value through solutions

  • 💓 Line 6: The President 👉🏻 creating value through wisdom

Have you ever met a person who was so unapologetically themselves? You walk away thinking, omg, I just love them! Your profile is what makes people fall in love with YOU that way.

It’s also what’s going to get you noticed in the job market.

In this post we’re covering Line 5: The Superhero

  • what makes you magnetic

  • why people want to pay you

  • what you’re actually hired for

  • copy & paste-able lines for your LinkedIn (written by me, not AI)

  • copy & paste-able words for your resume (written by me, not AI)

  • witty ways to start talking about yourself without sounding bratty
