Writing is fun. I think about writing all the time, but I also have a very full life outside of thinking about writing. (I didn’t say I was ACTUALLY writing…) So my plan is to show up here- mostly regularly and give you a little glimpse into my life. Into the things that will become fodder for the writing when it comes. So let’s get into it!
I am a full-time digital nomad, again. I travelled the world from 2015- 2020, (only coming back to the US during the pandemic,) and then a little over a year ago, I realized- it was time to go again.
In less than 6 months, I packed up what I wanted to keep in a small storage unit, sold everything else in an estate sale, spent a few weeks with my best friend, Christmas with my mom, and was in Mexico by New Year’s!
Playa del Carmen, Mexico- Berlin, Germany- Medellin, Colombia
Clearly I am enjoying my adventures.
Medellin has been particularly interesting, after leaving here on an emergency humanitarian flight during the pandemic, I had a lot of emotional healing to do in order to enjoy my stay. This is my first time back since 2020.
The apartment I picked has amazing balcony and floor to ceiling window views of the mountains and the city. I knew that peaceful incredible view would be the basis of all my medicine!
So, the sky that gets its own set of images! I have been obsessed with time-lapse videos of the sky!
Though I don’t know why I numbered this two, when I haven’t had a single second date in months. Lots of fun first dates. Mostly fun. I tend to meet people who are generally pretty cool, just not cool enough to hang with me more than once.
I am definitely finding my footing, using my voice, and setting my boundaries. It actually feels really good. Even if I don’t go out with these gentlemen again, I come away from each date feeling like I learned something new, or I practiced a valuable skill, and probably had a little fun too!
I’ll definitely have some interesting tales to write about after this adventure!
This very first edition of the Midlife Spice newsletter brought to you by The Magician!
The Magician shows up for me whenever I need encouragement about my creativity and my writing. She reminds me that I have everything I need already inside me and the magic is mine to make!
Sometimes when I need a little inspiration, I look for her in the deck and keep her on my desk while I work or think and she makes me feel a little more inspired!
What is something that reminds YOU of your creativity and inspires you to move towards your creative goals?
THANKS for reading the very first edition of the Midlife Spice newsletter and don’t worry, the follow up to The Spiral Perm is coming soon…
