Finding a good curl cream is no easy feat. We’ve gone from having just a few options to dozens at our fingertips, with high street stores stocking more products for curls and coils than ever before.
It means you’re constantly choosing between the trendy, viral creams dominating your TikTok feed and the seasoned veterans that shoppers just can’t to live without.
Like me, you’ve no doubt got a checklist in mind for what features a good curl cream for your curls should have, from consistency to scent. So, I tried 6 of the newest launches the curly and coily hair aisles have to offer, with prices ranging from under a tenner to almost £50, in a bid to find the ones that are worth your money and offer the bouncy, defined and moisturised results.
Two notable mentions that didn’t make my top 4 include Being’s Dream Curl Smoothie, £8 - which was as nourishing as a hair mask and offered a lot of product despite being the cheapest cream I tested, but would work better for looser curls than mine - and The Doux C.R.E.A.M. Twist & Curl Cream, £15.99 - it’s thick consistency means it’s great for long-lasting styles, like twist outs, but wouldn’t be my top choice for daily use as it took a while to melt in.
Now onto the top curl creams that impressed me the most...
