I drew some peace birds for 2026, because I think we’ll need them, just like we need a mountain of peacemakers right now.
One peacemaker on the mountain is Sean Ono Lennon. Over Christmas, I was thrilled to watch his film, War Is Over (written and directed by Dave Mullins). It’s a powerful anti-war film that won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short in 2023. I only learned about it on CBS, Sunday Morning, while watching with my ma — just after its Dec 1, 2025, release on YouTube.
Especially wonderful is that it’s inspired by the song, Happy Xmas, by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. I’m thinking it should get a screening across Canada at our local Rep Theatres — did I miss that too? Even though Christmas is over, this film is for the whole year, until we all come together to denounce and put an end to war. Watch it below…
