Seth Doud is a Minnesota-based singer-songwriter from central Minnesota, known for an original blend of soulful Americana, folk, and rock. His music has the feel of someone who has spent years not only playing songs, but living them first.
His relaxed acoustic sound and personal writing style make his music feel personal. His songs are rooted in real experience, inviting listeners into the journey behind the words.
Seth’s style has been described as an acoustic blend of soulful Americana folk rock, with influences reaching across genres. It’s grounded enough to feel familiar, but individual enough to sound like his own voice.
His lyrics are personal and emotionally open. He does not seem interested in skimming the surface. Instead, his songs give listeners a glimpse into his life, his reflections, and the feelings that have shaped him as both a person and a songwriter.
Seth has been playing and writing music since a young age. In 2010, he released his debut self-titled album, marking an important step in his path as an independent artist. After that release, he toured and performed across the country, building experience not only as a songwriter but as a live performer.
In early 2017, new inspiration led to his second album, This Time. The album continued his journey as an artist, offering another chapter in his growing body of original music.
In addition to his recorded work, Seth Doud is known as a reliable and dynamic live performer. His acoustic-driven sound and personal storytelling make him a natural fit for intimate venues, listening rooms, and settings where audiences are ready to connect with songs that come from real life rather than musical assembly lines.
“Windmills” was originally co-written by Seth and his dear friend Angie Stevens as a duet in the late 1990s. Seth and Angie first recorded it for an album she made when they were both very young, and they recently came back together to re-record it for Seth’s most recent album, This Time. It features a bridge/mashup that briefly slips into “Unchained Melody” before dropping back into the main chorus. The musical setting showcases Seth’s bluesy voice beautifully. And when Angie’s clear, almost ethereal harmonies join in, the effect makes my ears tingle.
