Welcome to At the Market, your place to browse what’s in season in Land of Oaks and Roses.
How is it basically mid August? I’m never as sad as everyone else at the end of summer because September is my favorite month. And my favorite month to get dressed :) But even I feel like this summer went by extra fast this year! The best way to slow things down for me is to cut back on plans so that’s my goal for the rest of August. Slow mornings, lazy afternoons. Repeat.
I have 3 weeks until my kids go back to school but I’m thinking of all of you who start next week! (That is so crazy to me, why do they do that to you in California?) Should we get organized together?
Here’s how I think about school clothes for my kids: I obviously love special pieces from smaller brands and they’ll each get a few of those pieces so we have fun options for first days, picture days and holidays. And then the rest of what they wear to school are sturdy basics that don’t cost a lot. I try to find higher quality on sale before going straight to the cheapest brands, but I always fill in with those too. Their closets are a real mix, and so is everything I found for you below!
Read on for my best finds for first days, sporty days, rainy days, picture days, rainy days, art days and that first chilly day that always comes out of nowhere…
