According to an AI/Google search:
A delusion and a hallucination differ primarily because a delusion is a false belief, while a hallucination is a false sensory experience.
Delusions, False belief: You think something is true even when facts show it is not.
No proof: Others do not see or experience the same thing.
Types: You might feel people are watching you or that you have special powers.
Hallucinations, False senses: You see, hear, smell, taste, or feel things that are not there.
Real to you: Your brain creates the feeling, but it has no external source.
Types: You might hear voices or see things that other people cannot see.

Donald Trump is an unusual case. To sum up, he is a lifelong pathological liar and con artist, with a history of sexual violence and predatory fraudulent business practices. He is, as is well established, a malignant narcissist, an egomaniac, a megalomaniac, and exhibits sadistic personality disorder. Counterintuitively he also suffers a huge inferiority complex and needs to be stroked constantly. (I hope he gets his wish, but not the kind he wants.) If anyone has anything to add, feel free, I can’t think of everything you know.
That toxic mix of psychopathologies is about all one would need to earn the official title of “Super-Mega-Asshole,” which I think is a useful designation for all of the above in the interest of brevity, if for no other reason. But that’s not a term you’ll come across in anything written by the Freudians or the Jungians. You’ll have to wait until my book on psychology comes out to see this particular diagnosis gain mainstream recognition.
So, why take the time to restate the obvious?
Consider for a moment that such an individual possesses great wealth, a cult following, and has more executive and military power in his tiny little hands than anyone on Earth.
And, he’s presenting advancing dementia.
That makes for a unique situation historically, because it is an example of “Mad King Syndrome.” All Super-Mega-Assholes have had a bad case of this, and there have been many. Henry VIII. George III. Hitler. Stalin. Mao, are just a few examples of such types who had great power and abused it, because they each had a full basket of psychopathologies in common.
What do Mad Kings do in their spare time, one might ask out of basic curiosity? Well, the one we are stuck with now is entertained for hours at a time by his resident Christian “Harpie,” serving as Court Jester and moonlighting as Court Flatterer, “Her Royal Mindless” (HRM) Natalie Harp. They stay up at night together posting infantile adulatory AI superhero memes about why Donald Trump is the biggest swinging dick (BSD) in the history of dickhood. “From this, she makes a living?” my grandmother would be asking in Yiddish if she were here.
Natalie provides that service for him, (please, don’t make me think about what else she does for him because I won’t be able to unsee it.) and this has created quite a faction fight between various players on the inside of Trump’s bordello-motif psycho-bin we laughingly refer to as the West Wing.
His “Truth Social” posts now functionally serve as courtroom quality evidence of his criminal insanity. He uses his platform not only to glorify himself, but to target his enemies for assassination through dogwhistle stochastic terrorist threats, and to conduct insider trading to enrich himself, his family, and his megadonors. (He has no actual friends unless he pays them to role-play as one) He should rename his platform “Social Disease,” which is what they used to call “the clap” back in the old 19th century Victorian days, long before there were internet acronyms.
Right...where was I....? Oh yeah, delusion, hallucination, and the clap. Chicago’s Al Capone had a lot of all three of those. I’m reminded that after he was let out of prison for tax evasion he retired and went home to sit by his Florida pool all day, where he took up his new hobby of becoming a syphillitic vegetable. I would imagine that if old Alphonse had access to the internet back then, he would have been staying up all night til 5 a.m. posting death threats against Elliot Ness while accusing the “Untouchables” of dumping Pirhana in his pool, and then attacking his successor Frank Nitti for being “low IQ.” Or something like that.
That brings me to the real point, finally, (what, you thought there wasn’t one and I’m just on some kind of riff?) which is the whole reflecting pool debacle.
I’ll tell you folks, this affair is right up there with Humphrey Bogart’s role as Captain Queeg in the film, “The Caine Mutiny.” You all remember his Trump-style meltdown on the witness stand, when he proved himself a paranoid lunatic by claiming he figured out the mutiny plot against him when someone gained access to his room and stole his frozen strawberries. He elaborated on this nefarious plot during his testimony while jiggling a set of marbles in his hand. You’ve all used the expression, “lost their marbles?” Yep, that’s where it comes from.
There is no more appropriate analogy or metaphor I can conceive of than that movie example. That is not to say Trump’s dementia is any excuse for what he does. He has always lied habitually about what he has done, and what he accuses his enemies of doing. His rage is an eternal flame, and his lying/fabrication mechanism is always set on “auto.”
The only thing he tells the truth about is what he plans to do in the future. Like all Super-Mega-Assholes who have preceded him, Trump tells the world who he is everyday, and most of us have listened. When he says what he actually thinks and tells the truth, it is by accident, and his handlers go into overdrive to walk it back and label it sarcasm, hyperbole, a joke, or part of “the weave.” “Nah, he didn’t really mean that” is a mantra tattooed on each of their wrists so they won’t forget.
The difference now is that because of his dementia, his belief in his own lies is unshakeable. He is no longer self-conscious enough to know he is running a con, and obsessively believes in the veracity of his own lies as well as the real existence of his fantasies.
So, on the reflecting pool, he is obsessed with the idea it really was vandalized. Yes, this is in part an ego-driven holdover of his narcissistic personality disorder and behavior pattern, because he cannot ever admit to f**king up. Personality-wise he is incapable of it. But now because of the new factor of his rapid cognitive decline, he cannot distinguish between certain kinds of realities and his own hostile fantasy life.
So, why dwell on this episode in particular? Well, for one thing, it is so obviously insane that four innocent individuals are now legally exonerated from the charges they vandalized the reflecting pool, who were accused of acting as agent/co-conspirators of the Antifa terrorists, Communist China, Hugo Chavez, Stephen Colbert and Rosie O’Donnell. These good folks are now off the hook, because the documents show that Trump never had frozen strawberries, that he did lose his marbles, and there never were Pirhanas or box-cutters in the pool.
Make no mistake, Jeanine Pirro didn’t take a stand for justice in throwing these cases out. She took a stand for Jeanine Pirro. You’ve all seen the coverage, had she gone into court with this pile of dreck for an indictment after an improperly run grand jury, in which no evidence was presented and no cost estimate for the damage done, (the criteria deciding whether or not it’s a felony or misdemeanor) she and the DOJ would have had their heads handed to them by the sitting judge. Jeanine Pirro was at one time a judge. A possibly very drunk, politically motivated hack of a judge, but a judge nevertheless.
She didn’t want to get hit with charges of prosecutorial misconduct which could lead to her being disbarred, as might happen with others of Trump’s hack nominees for US Attorney, like the beauty queen “Whiplash Wilhemena” from New Jersey who was removed last year, or Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman, who actually already were disbarred.
As you might have heard, Pirro was called to the White House yesterday after a leisurely afternoon spent examining the underneath of a local Greyhound Bus. Trump blasted her, saying she choked and folded like an umbrella. Now, you’ve probably watched her hosting on Fox over the years. She has been drunk on the air, is a vicious and unprincipled attack dog who sold her filter in exchange for a bottle of cheap Ripple on marketplace and never bothered getting a new one. I shy away from using the “B-Word,” but she is one on wheels.
So she marched right into the Oval Office yesterday with a box of documents (which predictably was also on wheels) to shove in his greasy orange face because she’s trying to save her job. I don’t personally know any “flies on the wall” but I can reasonably assume that the files consist of the investigatory docs she was given by the Interior Department disproving the vandalism theory entirely. She is telling him, (probably slurring badly) “your own people gave me these f**king documents and I couldn’t take them to court because they would prove you are 100% full of sh*t...Sir.” Or words to that effect.
So she’ll try to get him the names of the people who wrote the final report on what went wrong with the paint job and arrange to have them do the Bus undercarriage inspection instead of her.
Who knows how this plays out? Trump is demented after all. When I was caregiving for dementia patients, I spent ten years trying to persuade my clients that they weren’t living in a stranger’s home, that there wasn’t a Seagull perched on their TV sets, that their neighbor didn’t have a rifle pointed at them from across the street and there was no red dot on their foreheads, and that I wasn’t planning to run off and marry their spouse when they died.
Good luck to Jeanine winning him back over to her side. She always has the fallback of returning to Fox, where she’ll have some leverage and knows enough to hang Trump up by his Depends at any time of her choosing.
I think that precluding any type of occlusion in the near term, there will be more incidents like this. It will involve people who are not as close to Trump or as experienced at infighting as Pirro, who will be more like Marjorie Taylor-Greene types. Longtime loyalists who are going to be royally screwed by the Mad King. He and his flunkies will make more and more idiotic blunders born of incompetence, (the number one job requirement for getting hired in that place as we might remember) and Trump will react by screaming at each occasion, “off with their heads!” It won’t matter how many years of loyal service or devotion, their money and political influence won’t be enough to protect them. He’ll have them taken out for a boat ride like Fredo in Godfather II in the end, because as we all know, “the family business comes first.”
That is what we are seeing in real time. A paranoid hallucinating AND delusional mess, (yes, based on the above criteria, “you might hear voices or see things that other people cannot see”) a pathological tyrant like some kind of Shakespearian character, (Macbeth, Richard III) turning his closest allies into enemies, leaving himself more and more isolated in his gilded tower, watching out his window as the forests of Burnham Wood march ever closer to the front gate of his Castle Dunsinane.
His dementia is now a liability to those who installed him. This is why I’ve made the case for why they have a “Failsafe” plan for removing him under the 25th or forcing his resignation, which I believe they are quietly but seriously discussing behind the scenes.
We have to watch it all unfold. Since there’s nothing I can do about it from here in southern Mexico, I’m going to take a quick break and cool off by having some frozen strawberries. It is seriously hot AF here. That is, if they are still where I put them.
Have a great day y’all.
