Lafaani · The Lafaani Journal

December has been a fun month for us!

It’s a month of birthdays- starting with mine and followed closely by our head of design, which meant the weeks were filled with planning small celebrations, thinking about gifts, and finding reasons to gather around cake. There was a sense of joy running through the studio, setting the tone for how the month unfolded: light, warm, and full of shared moments.

December came with birthdays (and cake, obviously)

We also welcomed two interns who will be with us for the next four months- one from a fashion design background and the other from textile design. They’ve joined us at an important stage as we begin shaping our upcoming collections, and we’re looking forward to the new perspectives and questions they’ll bring into the studio.

Welcoming curious minds into the studio.

A large part of December has been spent preparing for January. We will be showcasing Unquiet | Seasonless ’26 in two European cities- first in Copenhagen from January 27 to 30, 2026, followed by Berlin from January 30 to February 2, 2026, alongside fashion weeks in both cities. Alongside this, we’ll also be presenting monochromatic separates from our Index collection- a collection we’ve chosen to keep building on and maintaining as the core of Lafaani.

January on our minds, all month long.

Earlier last month, we visited the Desi Oon Festival in New Delhi, and something aligned. Through conversations and shared intent, we’ve identified partners we hope to begin working with soon. Over the coming months, we’ll start sampling indigenous woollen knits and wovens, with the aim of adding woollen separates to our seasonless collections by this time next year- becoming, in our own way, a small part of the indigenous fibres movement in India.

Finding alignment, one fibre conversation at a time.

We’re also happy to share that Lafaani is now available on IKKIVI. A curation from Meadows and Almost Yesterday is live on their platform. IKKIVI’s ethos and sensibility, where Indian craftsmanship meets contemporary design, have always resonated with us, and this collaboration feels especially meaningful.

Now live at IKKIVI

There are many other things in the works, which we’ll share soon. For now, we’re closing the year feeling grateful for what has been, and genuinely excited for what lies ahead. As we step into 2026, we’re thinking about movement; planting our feet firmly on the ground, and allowing ourselves to run a little…towards energy, freedom, and possibility.

Warmly

Drishti
