I’m truly a fresh veggie fanatic and of course, I love making things from scratch just as much as I like shopping for real ingredients. I love the whole process of “harvesting” everything for a dish; from beginning to end, when creating something amazing.

Only a few people close to me have really gotten to experience my fresh guacamole recipe and the ones who have, absolutely love it. And I know this because they told me so. 😋

My disclaimer is: “How I make mine isn’t terribly different from others but how I like it may be a bit different from the average”. It may not look pretty and smooth like store-bought but it tastes good….dammed good and definitely better.

I like to rough chop everything to give my guac texture and enough heartiness that you will feel satiated for a while after consumption, whether it be on toast or on tortilla chips.

Ok, enough talk…here are the deets…

Ingredients:1/2 diced red onion
About 1/4 cup of finely chopped cilantro
1 handful of grape or baby heirloom tomaters 😉
2-4 large avocados (keep and mix the pits/seeds in for preservation)
2 fresh jalapeños with membrane intact (for the spicyness)
1- 1/2 teaspoons of freshly cracked black peppercorns
1-2 tablespoons of dead sea salt or regular coarse sea salt to taste
1 generous pour of unfiltered EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
3-4 dollops of sour cream (3-5 in your desired dairy-free option).
1-2 freshly squeezed lime or lemon (to slow down oxidization/turning brown)

Use an oversized metal, wooden or silicon serving spoon to roughly stir and chop your mix in a large bowl, in a circular motion. You can also use a potato masher. You will see your mix breaking down as you stir of course but stay mindful of your pending texture and make sure it dosen’t break down too much unless a smoother consistency is what you prefer. We like it chunky ova here tho! 👀… LOL! (see video below)
