Ladies in Real Estate · LiRE

Hi all,

This week, we’re doing something a little different. We’re handing the newsletter over to one of our members, Beatrice Ronchetti, a personal branding and visibility consultant specialising in real estate and the built environment.

One of the things I love most about LiRE is the depth of expertise within our community. Rather than keeping that knowledge to ourselves, I'd like to start sharing more of it with all of you through occasional guest editions.

I'd also love to use this newsletter to share relevant opportunities from within our network, so do scroll to the end where we're featuring an active investment mandate from one of our members that may be of interest to you or someone in your network.

  • Before we do, a link to our upcoming 20 August London breakfast, kindly hosted by Womble Bond Dickinson LLP, with big thanks to Bela Zavery for having us again this year! The session will include a panel discussion around what it really means for female leaders in today’s world to reconnect to their power. More info and registration at the link. Member codes below.

Beatrice helps experienced professionals become better known for their expertise, strengthen their reputation and create more valuable opportunities through LinkedIn, thought leadership and public speaking.

Her clients have collectively generated more than £140 million in project pipeline and she was awarded Consultant of the Year at the London Construction Awards 2025.

Here, she explores what can happen when your experience is not reflected in the way you present yourself, and what personal branding can unlock when it is.

Hello, I'm Beatrice. And I'd like to tell you about the £2m opportunity that disappeared before a single conversation even happened.

A development director once told me he’d been recommended an experienced consultant for a £2 million project. Strong enough that he looked her up before calling. Her LinkedIn profile came up.

He found:

  • No clear sense of what she specialised in

  • No obvious reason she suited this particular project

  • No visible proof she’d done similar work before

He never called to check. He just appointed someone else. She may never know she was in the running.

Here’s the bit that should stop you in your tracks: before anyone picks up the phone, they’re already deciding three things.

  • Trust - are you a safe pair of hands?

  • Clarity - what are you actually known for?

  • Proof - have you done this before?

Many accomplished women in this industry already have all three. It’s just not visible. The company’s known. The scheme’s known. The client’s known. They’re not.

This is exactly where your personal brand comes in - it helps you get through doors, in a time where just opening them isn’t enough.

The real estate market right now is tough. Honestly, the toughest I’ve seen in over 16 years working in this industry, and I’m not going to sugar coat that. But here’s what I keep coming back to, and what genuinely excites me: the work is still out there.

Which means the opportunities aren’t disappearing. They’re just going to whoever’s easiest to find and trust right now.

I know this because of two clients I worked with recently via my 90-day Accelerator Bootcamp:

  • A Property Marketing Director kept being told the roles she wanted just weren’t opening up right now, that firms were tightening budgets and not hiring at her level. We worked on her LinkedIn and her visibility as a speaker in her field. Weeks later, she landed a role that finally matched where she truly belonged.

  • A business owner in workplace kept hearing that the market was sticky, that projects weren’t starting, that this was just how a downturn goes. He got more deliberate about his visibility instead. In one of the hardest trading years the sector’s seen, he picked up £10 million of work in four months, closing all of it. The best four months in his company’s 20-year history.

SAME market. DIFFERENT result.

Across my client work overall: £140 million+ in project pipeline generated this way, in a market that hasn’t made it easy for anyone. That’s the bit that keeps me doing what I do.

Ready to make a start? The easiest place to begin is your LinkedIn profile. It’s usually the first thing anyone checks, and often the quickest thing to fix.

Most profiles fall into one of three traps:

  • Reads like a CV

  • Sounds polished, says nothing

  • Belongs to someone brilliant nobody can actually find

I built a two-minute LinkedIn Health Check to show you which one applies to you, and exactly what to fix first. You’ll get a personalised score and report straight to your inbox. Let’s find out where you stand!

P.S.

A huge thank you to Beatrice for sharing her expertise with the LiRE community.
