Describe (and create) the world you desire

This week, we are sharing the penultimate storytelling prompt for the Testimonios de Esperanza project. An overview of the project can be found here.

For this month’s activity, we have two steps:

First:

Take five minutes to build or draw a campground that would feel joyful or special for you. Use any objects around your home to make this space come to life.

Tómate cinco minutos para construir o dibujar un campamento que se sienta alegre o especial para ti. Utilice cualquier objeto que tengas en casa para dar vida a este espacio.

Next, we’ll use this campground as our canvas for world-building:

Describe 3 or 4 things that make your community or campground or town unique.

What makes your space joyful and safe?

If possible, create an icon or symbol representing each of these descriptions.

Describe 3 o 4 cosas que hacen que tu comunidad, campamento o pueblo sea único.

¿Qué hace que tu espacio sea alegre y seguro?

Si es posible, crea un ícono o símbolo que represente cada una de estas descripciones.

As we mentioned a couple weeks ago, The Cost of Being Undocumented just turned one! Alongside celebrating this date, we are thrilled to announce that the book is now available in paperback and includes a new foreword reflecting on the changes that have transpired since the book’s release.
