The Scorpio Conundrum

Star sign Scorpio, ruled by Mars—the planet of aggression—and Pluto—the planet of power play and obsession—has a certain reputation when it comes to sex.

But did you know this sign is the most likely to go longer periods without sex or sexual partners out of all the other signs? I’ll give you some reasons why.

• For a Scorpio, sex is about transformation, healing, and growth. They're sexual shamans. If it doesn't reach into their own or the other party's soul-genitals, why bother, really? So casual sex... meh. The standard for them is turning a meeting in the sheets into a year's worth of psychological consults. They will fuck the trauma out—way cheaper too.

• This crustacean has a tough shell and a mean stinger, but their insides are as mellow as flan pudding, hence the exterior for self-defense. Emotions can be overwhelmingly big when dealing with others in relationships. Deep down, they feel deeply and care loyally. So picky? Yep, absolutely. The sheer definition of quality over quantity, this one.

• As said, this sign can go through intense phases of transformation, always reinventing itself. They are even willing to put sex on hold when asked to go through a dark night of the soul on their own. They thrive in that space and come out the other side twice as strong.

• Subsequently, they understand more than most that sexual energy is life energy. They are able to use sacred sexuality in more ways than one, channeling it magically into other areas of their life like creative, intellectual, or psychological endeavors. They find that way more interesting than some superficial swiping on an app to fulfill a physical need—it's hard to get them that bored.

• Kinky sex is the Scorpio's playground, laughing in the face of so-called taboos, always scanning for what's beneath the psychological surface. But for the way they prefer to play between the sheets, matching partners are needed. It's essential that candidates can match their strength and intelligence in power play and sexual prowess. That way they don't have to hold back or care for two people's boundaries. Healthy, conscious Scorpios don't mind waiting until the right one(s) come(s) along, not one bit.

  
  Fun fact: Two full-blooded Scorpios are not necessarily a sustainable situation in the sexual department. But if you have the opportunity to experience that combo yourself or as a spectator, you’ll remember what it means to be alive in the truest sense of the word.
  

• Many mistake Scorpio for a fire sign who is quick to flirt, flounce, and take center stage, but in the four elements it is attributed to water, and fixed in its modality. This is the realm of deep feelings and emotional experiences—a still lake with lots of things happening under the surface.
  Can they pin you against the wall in a fiery kiss with their hand clenched around your esophagus? Absolutely—if you survived the psychological vetting process and have proven yourself worthy to dive in. You are unworthy of their touch, and a moron until proven otherwise.

  This caring, intuitive creature with the highest of standards just can't help it; that's how their radar works. So trust that there are a few Scorpios out there who are actually pretty reluctant to flirt and frustrated about this very characteristic. If you have a crush on one, give them the old-school classy approach and court your ass off.

If you have been involved with a Scorpio, chances are they changed some part of you in a significant way, no matter if it ended badly or well.
As someone with a huge stellium in Scorpio, I admit that the stinger can be very painful. Most of us are aware of this and, as such, sometimes afraid of being ourselves. That can be another reason why we shy away from connections and choose abstinence.
