It’s Wedding Week!
And that is pretty exciting.
Our little trio arrived home earlier this week to a tidy but bare kitchen, as one does after a week spent out of state.
Both Piper and Otto had previous plans for the evening and I was doing what you do after an absence - unpacking, laundry, sorting mail, opening packages (seems despite my best attempts, I still personally have kept Ye Olde Amazon in business this summer) and so when my empty stomach reminded me that it was dinner time, I scrounged around. I considered Door Dash (what a time to be alive) but I also did not feel like spending more dollar bills. Which is why for dinner last night I had two Trader Joe’s egg rolls and a handful of tater tots and some vanilla wafers. (Honestly, it was pretty tasty, but the lack of color in my meal was alarming.)
The next day didn’t fare much better for lunch as Otto and I unearthed two corn dogs from the freezer. I have no memory of acquiring said corn dogs - I think it was a teenager’s purchase. Regardless, we ate them and eventually I went to the grocery store and some semblance of order has been restored.
And now it is full steam ahead, all eyes on the weekend and I am wondering howI can Tetris all the items in the truck that I need to schlep up to Virginia. But I believe in me and even more so in all of my generous helping friends and either way, this weekend my sweet daughter will be married, whether the rain holds off or not, whether the details line up perfectly or not, whether the tablecloths are ironed or not. And honestly, we all know that a wedding is a delightful and dear party but the marriage is what matters.
