Running a bit late on my 2025 reflection and sharing My Three words for 2026. This year is all about preparing for the future and the changes that I know are planned for next year. It’s all about my mindset, business, approach to life and concepts of self.
My new book - Draw It Simple - has arrived. To celebrate the launch, I’ve got a new freebie in the subscriber resources. It includes some pointer for drawing things simply and a couple of step-by-step things to draw.
I’ve written and drawn a new book about how to draw simple and effective things for visual notetaking. I’m really excited about this one - and a little scared.
I started 2024 with a lot of goals - maybe too many. This is a post about how I’ve been going trying to achieve them, why I’m struggling to focus and a reminder that it hasn’t all been bad.
Finally, the sketchnote reflections about the last activity from My Year of TED is complete. Balance is the concept that changed the most since the project, find out more here.
30 Days of Compassion was the second last activity from My Year of TED. This post includes a reflection about what I learned then and what revisiting it has reminded me about now.
Reflection post on 30 days of Time 10 years since I did My Year of TED. This activity was insightful and positive when I did it in 2012, but came with a hard realisation about my self image. Reflecting on that was not easy over ten years later.
A positive and difficult reflection about 30 days of vulnerability from My Year of TED. This was a powerful activity when I did it back in 2012 and I carry so much of this knowledge, understanding and skill with me today.
This reflection has taken a long time to produce, and in the end it was a lot better than I expected. Some good reminders and a really nice realisation about being kinder to myself.
This was one of the more challenging and impactful activities from My Year of TED - it fundamentally altered how I function around decision making and my concepts of success.
The procrastination continued this month, this reflection should have come out on the 1st of July. There are many things distracting me right now and I’m not apologising about the delay - it is what it is at this point in time. On the plus side, preparation for our circus showcase at the end of the month is progressing well :-) Leadership was mainly based on two TED Talks - Barry Schwartz on our…
So, I think I’ve been procrastinating getting here because this was the one activity I look on as a failure. But, in reality, making the movement a success was not the metric. In reality, I did the work and tried quite hard to promote and find a first follower. Reflecting on this and rewatching the talks helped me feel a little better about that. Starting a Movement was based on two TED Talks -…
It was lovely to revisit this activity and how nice it was to spend time writing personal letters to some of the important people in my life. It wasn't that great to realise I haven't done it since - including not doing my parents' letters. This activity was based on a short TED Talk from Lakshmi Pratury - you can read the original outline of the activity here. Below are the sketchnotes for the…
This activity, 30 days of Preconceptions, marks a shift in My Year of TED - a shift I've not really thought of before. I doubt any of you realise, but this is a fortnight late. I started to beat myself up about that delay at the end of April, but around this time 10 years ago I was getting worn out by the project. On completion of this activity, I decided to put off starting my 13th one for a…
You know how I've been doing My Three Words to set intentions for the year since 2012 - sharing what they mean and then reflecting on them every year, for TEN YEARS! Well, it appears that I entirely forgot to reflect and share this year. The new year was a difficult time in many ways, so it probably makes sense. Plus, I did share my three words on the bullet journal video for January, which made…
