In January 2025, we started a new company, Kuzana.
We invest in “boring” but profitable Kenyan businesses at the earliest stages. Soybeans, Roofing material, FinTech infrastructure.
After raising $20m for African businesses and seeing many go bankrupt, we realized that capital alone is not enough. Companies need a strong foundation: business systems, accounting and a team they can rely on.
So we built Kuzana, an acceleration fund where we start with a $20k investment and make follow on investments.
In batch1, our goal was 50% growth in 6 months. The companies grew 170% (!!)
Batch2 we have even more surprises.
