Categories are very simple to add to Jekyll if you keep it simple. When I set this up a lot of other guides were trying to automate the creation of category pages and create global variables to compile and track them. doing more with less
The current trend in the market is doing more with fewer devs, Twitter being the biggest example in the news. Small-mid sized companies that have already been operating with this mindset will have a massive advantage over competitors who have to figure out how to shift their internal operations to support more efficient dev teams.
leading by example
It’s easier to copy something than come up with something original. Almost all leadership/business processes are not novel, they are just novel to individuals. It’s easier to navigate new situations if you’ve been on the other side of them, or seen them done before. Set clear expectations, but when they aren’t being met, you need to step in and lead by example.
The State of Blogging
I moved my blog from Wordpress to Jekyll. More importantly, I moved my blog from 1and1 to GitHub Pages. Here are some thoughts on this move, and the current state of blogging:
