I’m writing from bed on Sunday after a very full weekend that followed a very full week. My parents and brother have been in town for the weekend and between hosting them, we have been juggling sports practices and games, birthday parties, and end of year shenanigans. This week is James and Charlotte’s last week of school and I am both thrilled and a little stressed out about trying to jam everything into this week before everyone’s at different camps and no camps and all of that. Even though I know I will appreciate school again come September, I am really excited for summer to officially begin and to just spend more time relaxing and enjoying each other. I am really trying to commit to slowing down, not putting so much pressure on myself work-wise and savoring this time as a family. I know how much we’re going to miss it and how precious this time is. I think a lot of us are feeling that way.
Life has been so full and busy lately. Work has been busy, which is great but it’s hard when that coincides with my kids busy time of year. I have been taking calls and editing videos from the car, between running to different schools for different events, staying up late to pack kids for special events the next day and wrap up brand deliverables or schedule the next day’s posts. And I’ve been traveling a lot too — first to Ranch Santana with our family for a week, then straight to Charleston for a work trip and then back in time for the end of school year craze.
These past few weeks, I’ve just been telling myself to keep going, prioritize the balls that can’t be dropped and that the time to get a semblance of life and organization back will be soon. And I’m excited to exhale on Friday and finally put my feet up, even for a minute. But first, I have my parents in town a couple more days, a photo shoot at the house Tuesday, a couple end of year parties, and this Substack to get out. Oh, and I still have to book some of our summer flights and travel, which are all happening so soon!
Thanks for reading Closetful of Clothes! This post is public so feel free to share it.
So let me get to our edit for the week. Just the things that I am eyeing, buying and can’t live without.
We just got a new travel stroller. It’s actually a replacement for the folding travel stroller we have had for nearly 8 years that we would have kept until the kids went to college honestly, but American Airlines had other plans for it. I can’t say enough good things about it. Hence, we just got the same one again.
If you have blonde colored or highlighted hair, you need this for summer. It gets rid of brassiness and any discoloration from the sun and chorine.
I finally tried these and they’re as good as everyone says - truly give you the perfect bronze-y glow.
I tried switching to a brown mascara and I am a big fan. It looks more natural and feels more flattering as I’m getting older and especially for every day. I also find this one gives me very long but natural-looking lashes.
How cute are the Fourth of July pajamas I got the kids?
These sandals are so simple, so chic and such a good price.
Let me count the ways I love this top.
My most complimented bag of the summer is back in stock. This investment has paid off in cost per wear and we’re only in June. This one is a great look for less.
In love with these shorts.
This dress is just so chic. You can wear a bra with it, which I love but has a sexy back and pockets. I may need to pack it with me to Paris this summer.
I also snagged this shirt for Paris and beyond. I saw on Meghan Stokes and fell in love and it’s classic but looks special, making it a worthwhile investment you’ll have forever.
Just got this kitchen mat and it’s amazing. It wipes clean but adds a touch of color to our kitchen.
Got Charlotte this adorable dress for summer.
Love these pants for summer and they’re on sale too.
Okay, and that’s a wrap for this week. I hope you all are having the best week and for those of you in your last week of school too - we made it mamas!
